Bought this mostly done. Previous owner did all the hard work. I just insulated the cab, lowered it (rebuilt front end suspension, spindles, 3in springs), R200 O/T trans, new back window, stereo & tonneau cover. I also changed the headers and had them cut a hole in the crossmember to keep the single 3inch exhaust tucked up. Need to remove gas cap (fuel tank/cap in bed), antenna, maybe sidemarkers too & 1 piece windows (or replace vent window rubber as a lot of windnoise). Paint is faded and needs to be redone, thinking of another color. Pretty much all cosmetic stuff now.

Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks
moved some stuff around and getting ready to clean it all out of extra parts so I can remove the cab fromthe frame for hopefully the last time and finally finish up the suspension for the last time. I have more body work to do on the bed sides, strip the inner bed sides and floor, weld some more on the floor and get my scoop finally bonded tot he hood, I have a few more ideas/mods to do to the rad support so more pics will be posted doon.

Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks
I know I should be tied up and whipped for allowing the surface rust to start on the bare metal surfaces.
I have 2-3 options now as I sit. I have a complete low mileage 350 that I already had checked out after disasembleing and found hardly any cylinder wall taper or wear so a hone job was done and the crank even polished so pistons/bearings/rings/cam/and a set of heads and intake need purchased to get a start. I also have a very low, mileage 305 that runs spot on and could be an engine I could pull out of the camaro its in and build the 350 for the camaro for a little street machine. I also have a running 400 small block, with some cylinder wear and not sure on current bore yet. It had been rebuilt at one time and ran good but I dont know if the previuos build had the cylinders bored out .030 or .040 or worse. I ran a .040 flat top 408 with hyd cam double hump heads with port work, chamber work and stainless step down stem swirl cut manely valves and it was stout which has me hooked on 400s. I could also mix and match by building a destroked 377 with a 400 block and 350 crank or even a 383 or so with the 400 crank in the 350 block. I guess I need to see which is more feasilbe, because that Camaro is in complete driveable shape but definatley needs power under the hood. |

Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks
1972 Cheyenne Super 10. Someday I'll return it to the two-tone dk olive/white. This truck is a long awaited dream come true for me. The avatar shows my only other truck owned more than 25 years ago. I've wanted another ever since.

Thanks. Definitely a pretty clean find. I used to live in the New England. Being a car enthusiast in CA is like being a kid in a candy store. I sure appreciate the climate.

That's a 1973 and up alternator bracket. I have also seen an arm like our trucks have but installed on that side.
