Been traveling (might even visit the querque soon) and working on a house I'm selling, but... I did POR-15 my notch and aquire the rest of the rear disc parts (pass cable and both flex lines).

I got my disc brackets and will put it all together when I get the rest of the pieces gathered up. Just let me know when you're coming in, we'll go check out some NM metal, :D.

A couple updates:

Pics of the POR-15'd notch. I used cheapo foam brushes (one time use) and they shed so the finish is speckled but it's all covered and protected (recommend spending a couple more cents for the "quality" brushes if you go that route):

The summit drilled/slotted rotors started rusting from non-use so I pulled them off and gave them a light sanding/cleaning. I found that the holes and slots were gonna be a PITA keep from corroding so I chose to POR-15 them too :lol: We'll see if it stays there. Might need the high temp stuff.

You're the hose police :lol: They're not on yet. Still need to pick up the banjo bolts and I'm thinking I'll just go ahead and replace the steel lines from the T out to the flex lines.

I know, you're right. The problem is when you have no rear floor and wet roads... :eek:

I agree on the rust too, but those holes and slots would not be cleaned by the pads.

Just looking out for you.....:D. I picked my banjo bolts up at the Chevy dealership. Probably could have gotten them elsewhere, but I know I got the correct ones. I'll be back in FL in 2 weeks and then I get to play with new brakes, new headers and maybe a small engine upgrade, ;), :metal:.

hey friz, do those trailer fenders come as far over as the factory tubs?? do they make inner covers for them?? Thinking about using those on my roadster

You have'nt finished that thing yet!! Slacker:lol: I love the wheel wells, one you make a sheet metal cover for the insdie and stitch them up it will give a nice almost factory look. What are your plans for teh floor, metal or wood?

They are wider than the factory tubs. The factory tubs also narrow toward the top where these have a uniform width all the way up. I think they are 13+" wide (it's in this thread somewhere...).

I know man...:waah: I will do walls on both sides of the tubs. The outer walls will be more vertical than factory. On the inner walls I will use sections from the OG tubs along with extra material. The factory sections will provide the 2 rows of bead rolls. I'm going with stained wood/chrome strips in the back. Not sure about the notch cover yet, but I'm thinking I may use the wood there too (planks up/over).

It's the DOT air line (some type of poly I think) with a sheathing over it for extra protection.

I made the template for the outer tub wall. Then I realized I didn't have any sheets large enough to do it in one piece. So I'll do those another day

This was just to get the rough radius so I wouldn't have a bunch of folds to deal with inside the tub. The installed tub radius is slightly tighter:

The blue line is roughly where the tub starts to roll over and the black line is where I cut according to the template. Because of this the edges required a little hammer/dolly work to flatten them:

Very nice project. I have been reading this thread for the last 3 days. I do have to say I had the same idea for the tubs in my 64 burban. Im sure you will make sure the tubs are sealed good to the outside of the body, but I had some tubs installed on my 01 Jimmy and it leaked like hell when it rained because it wasn't sealed properly to the outside wall.

Still undecided on the paint. But I'm looking for a nice blue/green/grey for the main body. The top and bottom (below lower/side trim) will be white or light silver. FWIW my GF wants me to do red/white and I'm not beyond convincing... :o

I'd love to hear some suggestions if anyone has any. Just consider the fact that it WILL be two tone with a lighter top/bottom.
