I'm just getting back to work, was out for two and a half months recuperating from surgery on my arm. I tore the bicep tendon off of my forearm and they had to reattach it.

Yes

How the heck did you do that?

Happy to come by for a bit, if you have time?

Lifting a peace of pipe at work and it hit something, stopping it abruptly and putting all the force on my bicep muscle & tendon, tearing the tendon from the bone. They drilled a hole through the bone and screwed the tendon back into it.

glad your back on your feet, so to speak, there go the alarms at the airport! any more updates yet? Truck looks great, just got mine running, so, I'm onto safety stuff like brakes

I'll find out abut the alarms on Tuesday... LOL

I installed dome & cargo lights and wiring a couple weeks back. I also ordered the rear disc brake brackets from Captain Fab for the D52 calipers, I'll be installing the eldorado calipers with the e-brake. I have a set of his comaro brackets but don't like the e-brake cable setup. That;s about it for now !

Sorry you didn't like the Camaro set up I gave you.

I am not a fan of El Dorado calipers. I have been doing late model disk brakes, with the parking brake in the drum of the rotor. I have those if you like?

It's not an issue, I'm just very particular about what I want on my truck. What was fine a few yrs back has change know for me just by looking at other people's threads and seeing new products. I can do the elderado calipers and utilize the factory emergency brake cable brackets and it appears more stock.
Just fits my wants better.

It's been about 2 yrs since I've touched the truck until a few weeks ago. I started with cleaning the garage so I could get to the truck and find my tools. I completed the rear disc brake conversion and I'm currently working on going through the front end completely.
Phone won't let me upload any pictures, on vacation right now. I'll see if I can when I get home.

Progress report: I've been working on rebuilding the front end on my truck.
Took it down to an empty housing; and built it back up from there.
Regeared it to 3:73s, upgraded it to the large bearing hub & spindles, larger axles, all new bearings, seals, ball joints, axle joints, new locking hub parts, brakes and paint.

Looking good. Fender clearance seems a a bit tight for up travel. One of the reasons I clearanced my fenders for the larger tires.

It's an optical illusion, just the angle of the picture, there's actually good clearance.
I noticed that after I posted the pic.

I have a set of 15" rally rims but they don't fit over the rear disc brakes, so no plans on using them anytime soon.

Thanks...
I've been giving a bit of a push on it lately, but my back limits me as to how much I can do.
Getting cortisone shots next Wednesday, hopefully that will give me some relief...

Finally got her back on all 4's and rolling again, after a few months of completely rebuilding both front & rear diffs and adding disc brakes to the rear.

Gary glad to see you have gotten back on this, it is a great looking truck. And I too suffer from lower back pain, so far I can get some relief from pills, but dr. said I should try injection or fusing nerves, not sure if I want to do either of them, I just do what I can and move on

Great progress, happy for you to do what ever you can, take care my friend and keep posting

What’s left to do?

Hey Jim,

Haven't done anything on the truck for a couple weeks. It still needs more stuff installed under the dash and all fluids put in, exhaust, then I should be about ready to try starting it.

About 6 weeks ago I had a lumbar epidural shot. They inject steroids into your spinal Columb in the area of your pain. I felt pretty good for about 3 weeks then I was bent over changing marker lights in the front of my car and that was it, back to how I was before the shot. Been taking 800mg of Ibuprofen every morning to get through the day. I go back to see the Dr. at the end of the month and see what he says. I may need to get 2 vertebrae's fused in my lower back.
