Re: AD Truck Project
Looks pretty good Billy, Isn't it amazing how un-straight and un-parallel the upper and lower flanges of the frame are. I did a step notch on an S10 and there wasn't anything straight back there. Lots of measuring and head scratching.
You check in on the Oklahoma section lately? looks like a big get together is in the works. Hope to see you there. |
Re: AD Truck Project
Thanks. I have a tad more done than the pics but not much. Ive gotta wait till next payday to get some metal. By then I may have a relative in town for a day or two and con him into helping me button up a good portion of the rear suspension.
I have not looked in the OK section in awhile. I will check it out. |
Re: AD Truck Project

Re: AD Truck Project
Hi Billy, how ya doin? :smoke: any progress brother?

Re: AD Truck Project
I bought some metal about a month ago to bridge my notch. That is about it. I really need to get back on it again.

Re: AD Truck Project
I purchased a 4 port 7 gallon air tank from Ekstensive last week. That is about the only update I have. Awhile back I started on my upper bars on the 4link but have not finished them. I am hoping to get the fire under my rear to work on it again this winter.

Re: AD Truck Project

Re: AD Truck Project
No new pics... unless you want to see the damage after I hit a deer with my crew cab a few weeks ago.
It is just about back driveable. I still need a grill. But I am considering upgrading to the 06 grill and hood while I am at it. We will see. I am trying to get back in the mood to work on the gmc. The last I worked on it I had all the 4 link bars tacked in and as well the lower bag mounts. I had purchased metal to bridge the notches and mount the upper bag mount to. I need to purchase my air management parts and I think Accuair may be in my near future. |
Re: AD Truck Project
That stinks. I've been looking forward to some progress in the Oklahoma builds. I hope you get the crew back together quick.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
The crew cab is mostly together now. I am waiting until after storm season to get the 06 hood to match the 06 grill.
I did a little work on the 52. I cut and tacked in the bridge between the notches and cleaned up the garage a bit. Oh yeah. I forgot to mention I bought accuair elevel from porterbuilt about a month ago. It is gonna be pretty sweet. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-W...h539-no/14+-+1 |

Re: AD Truck Project
I forgot post post some pictures from back in July. I got the chassis on rolling on bags for the first time, and with all wheels and tires on it. Unfortunately, I just havent no felt like or made the time to do anything else to it.

Re: AD Truck Project
Looks great Billy! Need to see more updates like that. Did you get some new wheels too?

Re: AD Truck Project
looking good, hope you get the motivation to keep it going. There has been an occasional day where I don't want to work on my project, but I do because I know how many hours lay ahead to finish it. Most the time I'm excited to work on it which is cool and thats what gets them done. Sometimes the motivation just isn't there. Its not as easy as it looks and these threads never really show all the real work that goes into even the subtlest photo. So I hope to see this thing rolling down the road sooner than later.

Re: AD Truck Project
Hope your still working away on the '52
