Drove it around the block while sitting on a bucket because, you know, I couldn't let cobwebs grow on it.

Love the stepside man and you have the spare where God told GM He intended it to be. :chevy:

I paid for two fender emblems, put up a counteroffer on two more, filtered all of the Evaporust I used last week, and I am just about to finish up spraying the bolts and clips from the removed inner fender with NAPA Rust Treatment.

So whats new about aftermarket metal parts. Most don't fit right. I am glad you payed attention in High School Metal Shop and did what was necessary to install the roll pan.

Found out the carb filter holder thingie I was given by a forum member won't work for me. :(

It fits the threads in the carb but is too big for the fuel line fitting. Oh well.

Still got 2 more rounds of polishing and then final assembly.. Had to take it for a spin.. Didn't think it would be down for 6months with the paint and everything else we are doing

After 10 months of not touching it due to finishing my Masters degree and other home projects I finally got the 70 back in the shop for the long awaited roof swap. These are in-progress pictures. The pillars are not fully fitted yet

Driving her and smiling the whole time!

Tightened the screw on the rear view mirror, it doesn't flop around anymore!

Hopefully tomorrow I will install some door mirrors that were given to me. This 80 year old guy I met at the trash dump saw it and come over and started talking to me about it. He said he has a lot of old parts laying around his shed from when he had old vehicles, he invited me to come over and look around. I (with my brother-in-law) got over there and there were projects all over the place. The mirrors were all I could find that would work on my truck & I really needed them!

I'm surprised at how a lot of people just want to help with my truck! God is good!

This is for the Rochester 1 BBL carby fuel inlet fitting correct ? .

Ask the Counterman to let you look in the TOMCO catalog , it's in there .

They'll have the catalog but most Countermen no longer know how to use it....

After driving to a Saturday morning cruise in I worked on the truck. Found my temp sensor and dangling wire and discovered temp guage actually works when hooked up. Also found my pretty spark plug wire connectors can't stand the heat.

I hooked my temp up and found that the gauge doesn't know what hot or cold means. Also, that sucks for the wire holders!

Intially my guage wasn't working but on the back of the cluster panel where the main plug goes in, the metal tape on the main board was peeling a little. I just had to realign the "metal tape " that runs from the connecter to the guage. It was actually shorting out my signals and wiper motor since it was loose at the main connector area. Things could be worse about the spark plug holders :)
