It’s real easy. I just started out about 4 years old with a fanatical interest in cool cars and trucks, sat up on the armrest so I could see out the window of the family 48 Oldsmobile, and learned to identify every make and model on the road by the time I was 6 or 7. By the time I was a teenager most of the really cool cars and trucks were off the road, so I developed a knack for looking over fences, behind buildings, down alleys, and into open garages. After a while radar vision evolved, and anything that falls within the “cool” parameters sets off the alarm! It also helps to always have a camera nearby. Without a camera it’s likely I’ll never remember to go back and get a photo later.

I have to admit there is a lot of 60-66 raw material in the area, mostly because they never stopped being used as trucks. Sadly, 10 years ago there were also loads of cool 40’s-50’s cars in the area and almost all of them have since disappeared from the landscape.

My wife has gotten very adept at finding 60-66 trucks. This morning she spotted what appears to be a 1965 long step side in pretty good shape.

My 07 Dodge. I know, I know.... It was a brief lapse in judgement brought on by too many years of hard drinking...

LOL, small world. I probably know him.

Plans are just to get her running first. Have a line on a 350, and I'm looking for a 700r4. :chevy:

Here's a big truck we spotted this morning. It might be a dump truck. It's just about overgrown and can't be seen from the side road:

It's in the Mead area, on one of the small streets east of N. Market.

This guy lives around the corner from where I work. G-body front clip & driveway built step notch out back. It's a static drop too (he relocated the upper mount for the rear coils when he did the notch). 350/t-400/edelbrock carb. Says he gets about 15mpgs out of it.

I've seen it on the web before but never in person until last weekend....
