Larry,
Let me know if you go pick up that truck with the bucket seats and what it looks like in person.

Hey Jocko,

I was scrolling through all the posts and on page 264, post # 6576, my brother bought that truck shortly after I got mine. He had his girlfriends brother look at it in Chicago and then made a deal. He had it shipped Denver Colorado where he worked on it at his daughters house and then drove it home to Phoenix.

Factory cheyenne 4x4
Big block 402 engine that sounds amazing
700R4 trans
Factory AC truck (not hooked up)
Tilt wheel
Power steering
Power brakes
Painted 15 years ago always stored inside
Has not been driven in the winter since painted
Truck is a blast to drive get tons of attention
Must sell no room

Hello HO455. I see what you mean. This is just my personal preference but if it had been my truck I would have painted it some sort of original color that would have not clashed with the steering wheel. I like the color of the wheel, and GM had some nice blues back then. But to each his own. It is a beautiful truck !!

I agree it is beautiful and the wheel color maybe great in real life. Sometimes colors on different surfaces just don't photograph well.

Ive been looking for an original truck. I haven't been able to get motivated on finishing the Chevelle, but I thought if I could set it up to pull the travel trailer to the annual rod run at the coast this year I would get busy on the bodywork. After building a hitch and pulling the trailer around, I decided, no, I ain't gonna push it. The wife said that she missed having one of our 68-72's that we've had so I thought that we could pull the trailer to shows with a truck and still have something classier than the 2000 Sierra. I like the fact that this truck is all but ready to travel cross country and bone stock with 130k miles. The minor rust areas have been taken care of and paint blended, so yeah. Taking the loan wasn't something I really wanted to do, but hopefully this works out.

Jacko,

99.9% of the time the trucks you post are right up my alley. I love pretty much all 67-72 trucks but my interest has shifted over the years to the C20’s and K’s. I think they are just more practical when it comes to actually using a truck for what it was intended to be used for. I really appreciate all the posts you provide. With that being said, this one doesn’t do it for me. I can’t explain it but when you see one you really like it just feels right. Please keep the posts coming. They help me gauge value and it grows my respect for the well preserved ones still out there. I’ve always meant to ask, what do you used to search for this?

Just looked at this truck. Nice driver that will need cab corners and a driver's door.
He said he would take 6k.

FWIW, I’m not exactly a fan of this one either - satin paint not for me, but body pretty straight and thought someone might like it. When it comes to 67-68, I’ve always preferred 68s for some weird reason. Maybe I feel safer with those new side markers ;) I generally search with CL in specific areas or SearchTempest.

I love that satin Blue color. Is that an original color treatment? (Satin)?

No, satin is a bit of a modern repaint fad. I think it looks ok as a clear coat over mild patina - just my personal opinion on it though, some do look nice. I give it three more years on Barrett Jackson and then everyone will be back to shiny.

1970s Oldsmobile Toronado steering wheel. Having one years ago, I recognized it right away.

It is most likely a receiver for a front hitch. I put one on the front of my C30 Longhorn when I had it so I could launch my boat when my big camper was on it which prevented me from seeing much behind. Worked perfectly.

Thanks for the explanation. I remember a friend having a 68 K10 that looked very similar to this blue in color and patina, but now I am sure it was just old paint that had faded in the Virginia sun and weather.

Jocko I haven't seen a paint sticker like this one in years.

Lucite Centari Imron and Dulux. Old school . And a lot of shops never put them on after a full repaint . We always did.

Can you post a picture of the option sticker on the inside of the glove box? I saw that truck listed, but never could get a response from the seller. It looks like a nice truck
