Good observation, I think you're right. Aside from the obvious extra hangin at the rear, there seems to be a good amount of sunlight between cab and camper as well.

I'm ALWAYS in the market for one :) Yes, kinda on the back burner, waiting for the right one to come along. Primarily looking for a nice 8' Alaskan, that isn't IN Alaska (or 2000 miles away, like they all seem to be), or a nice Mitchell Little Sioux. Not looking for an over-hanger, per se. Hard to find bed-length WITH a john, but they are out there. Also lookin for a nice period topper as well, but I'm finding I'm way too picky in what I think "looks right" ha. Plus, it's hard to justify about $1K to ship a $200 camper shell... But if I found the right one, well... sometimes ya gotta bite the bullet. Have a few Alaskan leads, just gotta get off my butt and figure out how to get it to sunny North TX. Little Siouxs are hard to find though - have only found two, and have been kicking my self hard on the first one I passed on, didn't realize how nice it was at the time. Most of the Mitchell campers seem to be close to Colorado where they were mfgr'ed.

You know I was wondering yesterday how hard it would be to find a camper for a Longhorn.

And yes, I think it was built for a Longhorn.

I think it's a very rare thing, considering that longhorns are semi-rare just by themselves - and how many times have you seen a longhorn with an 8' camper on it with a big gap at the front? The two posted here lately (one shell, one large camper) are the first ones I've seen in ages.

68 car hauler

https://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/c...619030466.html

1968 Chevrolet Ramp Truck 400 ci V-8, 4 Speed manual transmission, Awesome Car Hauler. Engine smokes a little, currently has manual brakes and manual steering but have everything for power disc brake conversion and power steering too. Have a BRAND NEW 9000 lb winch in the box that goes with truck. Runs and drives but does need some work. $4500.

I have another 400ci engine available for $500 extra. Engine is in another truck complete carb to pan and can hear run before I remove it if so desired.

The more I look at it, I think it may have modified for a Longhorn due to the vertical black line at about the 8' mark.
