Well.....
lowered the bumper down just over a inch and stretched the panel just over where the bumper mounts to fill in the space and make it look factory still |

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
ya i am back on it......and it feels good to be pulling wrench again....
Mine is down at the body shop so i head down almost everyday and pull wrench there......then my new shop has my buddies 54 pickup in it so we are starting that now. He has a killer truck....when we get all the lights up and the shop cleaned up i will post some pictures of it as well. We are planning a trial fit of the new 400 hp 350 and 4 speed automatic by the weekend. Started welding up all my trim holes on the prostreet truck today I decided i am going to have all of the trim airbrushed on instead. I love the custom trim look but i hate the way it rattles around when you wash the truck so i thought.....hey what the heck lets try something new. |
Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
65 pick up...
Hey thanks thats a killer fire truck......lots of work |
Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
I actually thought about having the deluxe trim on my 40 air brushed back on too! Less stuff to wash around and polish!

Look at it this way. Have you ever seen a pro mod at a drag strip with real trim? Ok, maybe 20-30 years ago, but not now a days. It's all about saving weight! Use that for your reason when trolls ask. LMAO!

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
So your saying lose the trim or stop drinking beer.....ya your right lose the trim...

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
Well it's offical I decided to cut the new fenders and add the 2 inch piece to even out the wheel space on the front fender. Then will be doing something with the bumper to tighten it up and clean it up. We already dropped the front bumper 1" lower and added to the valance behind it. I will also be lowering the front tab of the fender atleast 1" so that it sits in the same place on the front bumper. In true form i have to say i came across most of the mods on a differnt thread i was looking at and i really liked them he did a great job. I asked if he would mind if i borrowed his idea and he was more then cool with it
So if you don't know who i am taking about then you need to check out " shrunken66stroker " thread . I think he has done great work and really dig the truck. Dude has mad skills and a great vision here is the link for his thread if you haven't visited it . http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...333241&page=30 |

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
Well the fenders are cut and extended and i managed to get 2 front bumpers to make one for the front.......So will start that soon
I will try to take some pictures of the fenders and post them in the next day or 2. But the coolest thing it's moving forward and starting to come together. I still don't have a color picked out for the chassis or the truck i seem to be stuck with all of that at the moment |
