Re: Post Your Ride 88-98 Trucks
They are not my first choice in wheels myself. But i got a smokin' deal on em (from a board member actually). They are 17" Billet Specialties, and look sweet when driving, so they'll do. It sit's the same in both second and third pics, just hard to tell. I lowered the front 2" and plan for a little more, 1" front and 3-4" rear.

This is my 1990 K 1500 Silverado which I bought back in October. It has 16" American Racing Diamond Lock IIs with 305s and I'm not sure how much lift. Maybe 4". Just a bone stock truck. It's got almost 165,000 miles which I didn't think was too bad.

Here's my '88 1500, Black and tan. It's got a little over 161K miles. It's what I was looking for: older style Chevy, black, short box, regular cab, perfect start to a 454 SS clone. I drove it home, parked it, and it died. I've probably replaced half the truck by now :m7: I can't even list it all, cause I can't remember it but some things: -battery -gas tank -fuel lines -brake lines -seats -speakers -radio -tires -air cleaner -fuel filter -every light on the truck, exterior and interior -wiring cover under hood (Hard as hell to find!!) -thermostat -center hubs -wheel cylinders -all brakes -idler arm -pitman arm And alot more. Right now, it's leaking oil like a ***** so I've gotta drop the trans and replace the rear main seals, the oil pan gasket and the oil pan itself. It's gonna be alot of work... A couple future mods are new rocker panels, new cab corners, new bed, shaved doorhandles, black bumpers, black/red grille emblem, 454SS decals, 454SS tailgate decal, soft tonneau cover, new headliner, new carpet, 30% VLT tinted windows, and the same wheels, just chromed. Here's some older pics, summer '08, before the winter came and killed my bed, rockers, and cab corners that much more... Over spring break, I replaced the rear main seal, oil filter seal, oil pan gasket, and oil pan. I also hand-sanded the grille and painted it black. Sorry, no pics. |

Re: Post Your Ride 88-98 Trucks
Diesel, did your truck have the 4 sealed beam headlights before the new front end? I'm looking to swap my headlights for the composite-style, mine's an '88. Nice truck, by the way :metal:

Thanks JK88 This project has been a couple of yrs of "work in progress" with my son and me. When we got it, it was just a cab and chassis. We payed $200 for a title and we also got some rusty metal on wheels. Sorry I couldn't help you out |

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Well here's mine. 88 1500 with a 5.7 and 4x4, 94 blazer wheels and dual exhaust out the side. Everything else is stock but the previous (also the original) owner had the bed repainted... and its kind of obvious... but not at a distance. Its my daily driver and just rolled over 170,000. It burns some oil and eventually I will rebuild it. The trans. will need to be rebuilt soon, and the rear end has been rebuilt once but it needs to be rebuilt again/replaced... I've put new tires on it and put a permanent cb mount on the roof. (neither are in the picture) but thats it...

Here are a couple pictures of my daughter's '93 C1500. The story; shortly after she was born, in 1992, I purchases a new victory-red, C1500 "Sport", I lowered the truck and did a few other modifications to the truck, it got a lot of attention, folks loved it and I was constantly pestered to sell it. After eight years and 70,000 miles a guy made me an offer, which he was a fool to make and I was a fool to take, away went the truck my daughter loved. My daughter was heartbroken and as she grew a little older she asked me if we could buy that truck back. Two years ago my then 14 year old daughter and I found and bought this truck, while it isn’t identical to the one she fell in love with, we are working on it.

Yes, this is the same truck! My friends Darrin and Sean of Bakstreet Kusstmz in Havelock, North Carolina have truly outdone themselves! They do what other shops won’t!
