Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
this will work with the CPP unit correct? What are price options with shipping?

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Once you remove the universal mounting bracket that comes with it, yes it should bolt up to my booster brackets.
As stated in post #1 of this for sale thread, the cost in bare steel is $55.00 plus $14.35 for shipping. Quote:

After 10 years at the same price, I have had to raise my price due to an increase in my laser cutting costs.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
4 Attachment(s)
Got my bracket from Captainfab and was very happy with the quality of his manufactured part, fits and it was professionally cut and bent and drilled. I did not want to drill my firewall on my 64 GMC. At his advice picked up a full size power brake booster from the flaps and I updated to a dual reservoir master cylinger but at this time keeping it all drums so no need for a proportioning valve. I ended up cutting the eye off the booster rod and welding on a 3/8" by 24 thread female coupler on. Then will buy the speedway SSBC A1726 Universal Adjustable Master Cylinder Pushrod Kit to finsh off the pedal linkage. I did not want to cut or adapt the existing brake arm because they are getting scarce. All in all pretty straight forward, next week will see how it all works and will report back.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Ended up buying this push rod from summit, ran less than $15 and some 3/8" by 24 threads per inch all thread and put it all together. Road trip works like a champ, love the power brakes over the standard, makes it a nice easy driver. Bolting the booster to the bracket went easier than I thought. It is made so you can use a 9/16" open and box end wrench without clearance issues. All in all I give the bracket a solid 10 out of ten and power brake addition a pretty cheap and easy modification for under $200. Cant beat that with a stick.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad you received it. I was a little worried with all the international restrictions being enacted. I am still here building and shipping orders. I work alone so the distancing mandate isn't too hard to follow  Yes I am ready to get back to some normalcy but I fear that may be a ways off still.

Captain, Well it has been just about 13 months since I purchased your BBB (Brake Booster Bracket) for my 63 Suburban. I am finally getting around to doing the suspension and motor swap. I am converting over to 5x5 disks front and rear. I will be sourcing the booster and MC from CPP, not sure what size that I will be running - 8"? but what do I need to ask for as I am not sure if the bracket came with paperwork but if so it is long gone! Thanks! |
Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
All of my booster brackets come with a list of compatible boosters including part numbers. If you are buying a booster from CPP it should work as most of the aftermarket universal boosters have the same 3-3/8" x 3-3/8" mounting stud pattern. There are a couple of the compatible factory boosters in post #1 of this for sale thread and in post #183 on page 8 is a list of several more.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket
You do not have to, but most people like the feel of the pedal better with lowering the attachment hole 1" from original. The angle of the booster bracket keeps the pushrod fairly straight when you do.
