Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Thanks, yeah, that might work.right now im leaning towards a small mesh wire basket for the baffle in the v/c, any thoughts?

Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
i used a solid piece of aluminum to keep liquid oil from splashing into the breather fitting. It's open on the sides to allow air movement, but no direct oil ingestion.

Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
OK, let me think about that, might be a better solution than what i had in mind. Further thought on the adapter/fitting you posted may very well work, just have to cut a hole that it will screw into, dont know yet what that hole will have to look like. Maybe just buy the fitting and go from there
Thanks for your time and help, this PCV has got me fustrated:smoke: |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
That PCV is meant to take the place of the oil filler cap, lol.
If you wanted, you could probably run two passenger side valve covers with these fittings, and you'd have two -10 crankcase vent ports ready to go. |

Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Got the top finally pulled off on Friday evening.
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...psa5c85c54.jpg Bunch of local guys got together and had a dyno day on Saturday. I didn't put up any hero numbers, but I'm happy with the result on a rough street tune with soft timing, and the lowest boost I could run (9 psi). Gonna get the boost controller plumbed up and start to sneak up on it. Should be fun, as this turbo really STARTS to come alive and becomes efficient around 18 psi. Will probably bump the rev limiter up a bit too, since it was still climbing pretty good when I shut it down around 6300. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...pse671dc07.jpg Video: |

Awesome work!! Very nice!!

Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Good #'s for low boost!
What are you running for a muffler? It sounds nice! |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
This is one bad a$$ blazer - damn!!

I built a 4" aluminum down pipe and used a Vibrant 4" aluminum muffler with it. It also has the wastegate dumped to atmosphere. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...psoqtjlh9q.jpg |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Read thewhole thread right now nice build I had seen videos of it before on YouTube and saw the build thread right now and had to read it hope to do a similar setup on my 69 c10 how you like that holley intake and that dominator I've seen a lot of the fast trucks back at home going to that holley dominator setup
|
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Thanks man. The intake looks badass, no doubt. Can't really say if it hurt, helped, or didn't change the low end response, since I swapped cams the same time I changed intakes.
The dominator is awesome. It's VERY similar to the megasquirt in terms of capability and tuning methodology, but it's just so much more refined and user friendly. Blows the stock ECU junk out of the water. I like it so much in fact, that I just bought another one for a project car I'm working on :) |

64 Buick Skylark. I've already got the LS6 from a CTS-V built for it, and the 4L80E ready to go. It's getting turbocharged as well ;) Much more longer term project. It's getting taken down to bare metal to repair a couple rust spots, and a fresh paint job. http://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.ne...95012591_o.jpg |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Love the old Buicks. That will be sweet.

Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Buick looks straight and solid...:metal:
Goodies to be had for the 64-72 A-body should/could make this thing nasty! pro-touring?/OEM outside-nasty inside?/drag? whats the project outcome and scope on this one? [too many questions too soon?] |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Not really sure what direction this one will go. Probably a bit pro-touring with some suspension and brake upgrades, with a bone stock interior, and some stickey tires for impromptu stoplight action.
Kind of a well rounded street car/cruiser/bruiser. |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Guess I haven't updated this in awhile...the ol' Family Truckster is living up to it's name. My wife and I welcomed our son to the world about 3 months ago. He's already been out cruising topless with us a few times :) As you can tell, horsepower puts my daughter to sleep. lol
