Still working on it . The whole bed is now ready for paint , minus the tailgate . The two that I had just didn't measure up . I would up springing for a really sweet OEM gate . ( Thanks Daniel ! [ dirish ] )

Still have a few more changes to make for the efi . I did get the tank pulled and installed the new in-tank pump .

As for the motor , well I wound up taking a few steps backwards on that. I was just planning to pull the motor and repaint and install new cam . Well , I pulled the heads off and disassembled for paint . Wound up installing new springs and valve job . Then , when i came to the block , I figured that too would be much easier if it was bare . So once tore down , proceeded to smooth all the casting . The POR 15 paint looks much better with it slicked out . While its apart , if course it's getting new bearings , rings .

So in a nutshell , an engine repaint turned into a total engine build ! And I wonder why this truck is not finished yet. . Lol !

 Sounds like me, I'm pulling my complete rolling chassis apart to install Porterbuilt Front/Rear Dropmembers and re-paint the frame, so I'm taking two steps back to take a step forward as well. You will be happier in the end that you did exactly what you wanted atleast thats how I feel about mine :chevy: Can't wait to see some updated pics.

I've got a few pics of the induction setup all mocked up . Bolted to the cylinder heads. I slicked out some stock big block valve covers and buried them with 4 coats of orange . Then cut and buffed them . Added the 502 Ram Jet air cleaner instead of the S&P rectangular one . Looks much better IMO . Also dechromed the fuel rails and did them in black to add some contrast and break up all the chrome . I'll post some shots first chance I get. Should be this weekend .

Yeah , I can't wait to finish the engine and fire her up . This new roller cam is somewhat tamer than my previous flat tappet , but I'm more concerned with driveability than before . Should still have a healthy exhaust note .

Update ..... Modified my bed dolly this past week . Tomorrow or Sunday I'll get the bedsides , tubs and front panel cut in so I can bolt it all back together on the dolly and ready it for the trip to the spray booth !!!! :metal:

Hey Chris,

Would you be willing to make another set of those headlight and wiper knobs? I'll be running the same Vintage Air panel and love how those came out.

Thanks,
Greg

Thanks wayne72 . My towers are 68-71 with small block poly mounts from Energy Suspension . Not sure of the part number. Still in Texas for Pate until tomorrow, but I'll check when I get home .
