Looking good sir!

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
Very nice work on your rocker! It looks really nice. I used a pair of Tri-Plus cab corners on my last cab and it took a lot to get them to fit decent. I've always used the Tabco ones before and they fit really well.

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
The rocker patch looks good, did you go ahead and buy the Tabco brand cab corner?

Well my cab corner came in and it was a tri-plus. so I started to fit it up and ended up fitting pretty good it was much heavier then the other and the shape was good, matched up to rocker very well. When I get one for the other side
I'm going to get a tabco like everyone recommended. I also shot some epoxy primer on b pillar and rockers I wasent sure if shooting primer today was a good idea because it hit 110 degrees but it came out good. |

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
wow this is an amazing build. great work. you have excited me and scared me all in one thread. lol
Do you think its possible to add a little more to the rear cab for storage like a dodge megacab? What were the benefits of adding to the frame vs finding a crewcab short bed frame for like a 80's truck? Thanks Chris |
Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

The frame was kind of the same idea I want it to look as factory as possible and I only had to make two body mounts. and it will also use all the factory bed mounts and coil spring suspenison. I know cutting, shorting, welding frames is taboo for some guys but if done right its not a issue and I wanted that stock looking frame Besides chevy never made a crewcab shortbed until like 95 or so. even if they did I dont think the wheel base would be the same so I would still have to modify it. Thanks for checkin out my build! |

Well after a month of no work on the truck I finally got a few things done.
I did some grinding inside of the cab and removed all the bracing I put in to keep everthing square. Then I bodyworked the cab corner I replaced and shot everthing with some epoxy primer. Nothing to exciting but its progress. |
Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
