Thanks guys for all the comments. I agree THilde Cecil is too nice for that neighborhood.

On a different note I drove home another one. Not sure if I am gonna keep him or flip him though. I want a SWB but this old truck is pretty solid, typical rust on the lower doors and behind the wheel wells. The 283 runs great and it has a factory 2 speed powerglide. Love the color and Patina. Its bagged but the c-notches I don't really trust.

Quick update. Chris and I finally able to get 99% of Cecil's Engine problems fixed. In fact Old "Cecil" is laying 20x10 rubber stripes and rolling smoke out under the fenders. Seems that Larry's sold me a MEMCAL for V6 not V8. Pretty pissed about that, Chris spent hours working on this engine and simple chip cured almost all the issues. Had some overheating issues and looks like we had more Dirt Dobbers nest in the bottom of the engine that was keeping the water from properly circulating in the block, couple or three radiator flushes have cured most of those issues.

Side note I found a cool app called Portrait Painter that makes photos look like they are paintings.

Glad to hear you've got things ironed out with the engine ... I'd b miffed too if someone sold me a V6 chip/programmer when I asked/ordered it for a V8. It's no wonder Chris was chasing his backside for a while ...

Hopefully you'll get all the bugs out & drive the wheels off that truck.

As for the "app" I'm so computerized that I could actually figure that out to do.

Just a little update/project over the weekend. I took these old bed strips out of the 65 C-10 I bought (and sold) recently. I cut them down to fit Cecil and installed them over the old barnwood, to give his bed a little more "authentic" look. Here is the before and after.

WOW!!!! just plain ole WOW! love this build.. couple questions for Skymangs does the booster always end up centered and down a bit in the "H" (3rd pic, post #69)? and the box I noticed that you have the 1.5 square tubing ABOVE the stock side bracket (post #137), is this how you do them all, I have my sitting ON the square tubing ? I think I need to move mine..lol .. definatly my favorite build!!!

Re: Cecil the 1953 5 window / S-10 / 5.7 TPI

Thank you! Cecil has special cab mounts. They are only 2.25" off the frame. If you are using my version 1 brackets then the bed should rest on the square tube.

Cecil was a "special needs" kid.... LMAO!

I missed this- Chris are you moving the rear end 1" forward on the springs?

Most of you know that Chris was injured very badly in a shop fire a couple weeks ago. I have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help Chris (AKA SKYMANGS, Ole Sarge) and his family with medical expenses. Please share this with as many people as possible. Chris was the first to help with any questions, lets see if we can help him out here: Chris Klapp, AKA: SKYMANGS, Ole Sarge

damn, that's news to me. Sorry to hear. I have a friend that was badly burnt at his work a year ago, he still is far from recovered. his whole upper body and head got hit. I hope Chris didn't get it as bad, esp the hands. This world has a very unjust balance.

Shawn,
I had no idea that Chris had was involved with a shop accident. That sucks.
I'm not that proficient with Crowd funding and all that, but do you have an address where people could send a check to help him out?

Thanks,
Todd.

Chris' wife posted this on his Facebook page yesterday:

"Chris had surgery today and he did well. They did a trac and cleaned up some of his burn areas. He is doing well this evening other than a slight fever."

Chris loves working on these trucks, when he was building my truck it was hard to tell who was more excited, me or him. Chris was always the first to offer any advice to the forum members here. Pleasde help him and his family via the GoFundMe campaign that I set up to help Chris (AKA SKYMANGS, Ole Sarge) and his family with any medical expenses. Here is the link to the campaign

Thank you to all who have donated! As you can see we cracked the $2000 mark and we are now almost halfway to the $5000 goal. Please keep spreading the word so we can help Chris out, donations can be made here or clinking the link in my signature. Additionally if you would please insert the Chris' link into your signature so it will show up on all the threads you reply on.

Chris has been in ICU almost a month now, here is the latest update from his wife.

By Jennifer Klapp — Aug 3, 2015 3:34pm

Chris is doing well, not much has really changed. He is off the ventilator during the day, night they put him on because of his sleep apnea. He is aware of the comings and goings in his room and will slightly respond to questions, by shrugs or shaking of head, or blinking. He is moving a little bit, I am sure his legs and arms feel as though they weigh a ton. He is still on dialysis, but is putting out urine, so they are slowly kicking back on. They are worried that he may have pneumonia again, but they watching. He is slowly getting to the point to were he will be able to have visitors, just need to get him out of ICU portion of the burn center
.
