Picked up the rear for my Dodge. I bought it just outside of Wilkes-Barre PA about a five hour round trip . Everything I found around here that was in good shape came at a minimum of 1200. Bought this one for $600 came out of a 70k mile southern truck that got nailed on 81 last fall. Looks like it just had a brake job too . Super clean outside and inside. I also bought some interior items from the donor truck for my truck .
Side note I think the alternator on my Envoy is on it's way out . Volt meter was jumping around and the dash lights were flickering between dim and bright |

Wifes '05 Buick Rainier was doing that. I took the battery cables off and cleaned them good, tightened them back up and it cured it. Worth a try. LockDoc |

I don't know how many I cleaned and tightened when I worked at the service station. It was often for free for the folks who bought gas there all the time. |

Doing brakes & bushings on customer golf cart. If you want to go fast you have to stop even faster.
Golf cart brakes, bushings and labor $325.00. New shoes are $26.00 each x 4 New hub's $49.00 each Bushing kits $24.00 for both. Total in parts = $226.00 $99.00 labor for about 6 hrs work. That's $16.00 hr labor. I love working on these!:lol::lol::lol: :chevy: |

I feel for you, Few things suck more than having to do them in frame, even in a shop it sucks. I’m sure having to stab the pistons from the bottom and not kill the new rings or mar the rod or crank journals is a lot of headache. I’ve never had the pleasure of knocking them in from the bottom. (Insert that’s what she said joke here:lol:) |

Those ole four banger blocks were huge, though. Lots of room beside the crank, though you had to turn the rod journal to one side for each cylinder. I heard some old guys compressed the rings from the bottom but seems too hard for me. |

My CC renews in August. Arkansas charges $52.50 for a 5 year permit, and we have to take a 1-2 hour class.
|
Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I never did get around to doing the permit thing.;)
Sure does vary by state doesn't it. |
Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Nice thing about here is that your car is considered an extension of your home so you don’t have to have a permit to carry concealed in your vehicle. I still have one to carry most everywhere else though.
|
Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Arkansas has a law that says you are not required to have a permit to CC if you are "on a journey".
That pretty much leaves it up to the situation and the officer. |
Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
my California permit expired. Now I'm waiting for an appointment to requaulify. I've been waiting 6 months. Another reason to leave this god forsaken state!

Here in Ohio you have to take a 10 hour class, 2 hours of shooting, and fill out an application with the county sheriff. If you don't have any legal disqualifiers, they have to give you the permit. It lasts 5 years, you go back to the sheriff, reapply, and get a new one. There is never a proficiency test of any kind. They don't care at all about how well you shoot, it is totally about safety. Handling, storage, transportation, and the law are what they focus on. As long as you can put 50 rounds down range during the shooting portion of the class time, you never have to shoot again. Safety and the legalities of the state are the thing. |

I have a pic of me there in '91 riding a BMX bike that we grabbed off of the top of the trash wagon as it went by picking up bags from campsites. It had both tires flat, so we cut them off with a hacksaw and rode it around all weekend. Steel rims on asphalt make a crazy noise. |

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Got down in my cellar and finished up the under floor insulation 100%. Still more to do, but no more insulation. Next I will staple Tyvek up. I hadn't been down there in a month or more. It was the perfect day for it. Not fit for anything outside.

I have a never used still in the box Coleman stove from 1983-84. I bought it just before I started dating my wife. Camping for her is no HBO. So it never got used. I moved 4 times and still have it for some reason.
I also have a Coleman tent from the same time. I pulled it out once or twice for the kids. It is still in great condition. |

Then somewhere along the way I/we got it from her after she and my stepfather got into fancy RVs and didn't do any more cooking out on tables. Probably came with the 71 K10 around 1983. It worked great for years and years but then one time I burnt my hand trying to put it away after it should have been cooled off. I bought a Coleman single burner just to go camping by myself, but it's almost like cooking on a flamethrower. I'd like to get the old green two burner working right again now that we have the Silverado and the Leer. I don't think you can even buy a Coleman gasoline stove anymore? At least there was nothing at the store when I looked. They all use those stupid little throwaway propane cannisters  |
