The yellow 5 window looks pretty solid. I'd rather deal with dents than rust any day.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
I've got enough parts kicking around here minus one rear fender to make a pretty complete truck out of that spare cab and frame with the yellow truck.

There is a 55 second series Chevy 6500 with a long flatbed being run though the auto Auction in Pasco Wa that might be of interest to someone in the PNW. Their fees run the purchase price up a bit but they are a straight arrow outfit to deal with. https://www.trucksandauto.com/auctio...hevrolet--6500 |

Love that triple deuce intake! I'm always suspicious of trucks with factory suspension that sit low...there's only a couple decent ways to do that, and they're expensive. |

That blue 4 x is at a dealer who probably has it on consignment. The problem is that the photos they have don't show me 55 K. No engine photos, no chassis while up on a hoist photos, Not one freaking interior photo. You want a 55 K starting point, show me why it is a 55 K truck. Show the details that make it special.
I posted more an better detailed photos to sell the rust bucket 31 Model A Victoria that I sold for 1700 plus 200 to deliver it to Portland last year. Then I even took another 20 photos for the guy who bought it at his request. |

Love this blue patina, Original paint trucks are getting tougher to locate. I know a forum member who has a long bed frame, fully custom from No Limit, just sitting around on rotting tires for 10 years now and needs to just buy this and put the body on! You know who you are! |

That's about the nicest AD I have seen for 18K lately but I just don't get why a guy wouldn't fix the starter and have it ready to go.

I full and well understand the sick and tired of fooling with them but having the starter rebuilt or even ordering one from a specialty house is under 200 and that alone saves getting lowballed several thousand on the price.
A 235 Hydromatic starter isn't one you can run into O'Reilly's and snag and slap it in. Yes I checked O"Reillys and Napa. |
Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
Right on Starter. My AD's original "hydromantic" tranny quit and got replaced with a 3 speed set up in 1970!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Been so long forgot all about it.
Maybe why they yanked motor to replace flywheel? |

My go to starter guy closed his shop in Yakima because his son wasn't capable of running it and he was way beyond retirement age himself. He even PM'd me on the Hamb asking if I knew of anyone who might be interested in buying the business. I had sent him a fair amount of business over the years by telling folks to contact him and ship their starter or generator him. Still I have to question why someone with a truck that nice would not fix the starter and have the truck in start, run and drive condition. I full and well understand the sick and tired of fooling with it thing. Plus I can understand the tired of putting money in it but for 200 or less it is a full asking price truck and without, one can expect low ball offers that are way low. |

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
There is a lesson in that add on the 57 GMC. first spend an hour and clean the junk out of it. Second show more and better photos of what actually might make it worth the asking price. There are guys on here who would be hooking up the trailer right now if they knew that that whole bed was in decent shape.
I'm guessing that pulling into his yard with your trailer and having what actual cash green money you actually are willing to spend buys it though.. I'd take a body guard or two though. |

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
To be honest, if I had the cash and a decent place to work on it, I'd seriously be thinking about going after that one.
I'm just amazed that so many people post adds for rigs for serous money that may actually be worth said money and don't take the time to clean the trash and junk out of the rig, don't take the time and effort to drag it out of the weeds into a clear uncluttered spot or pick up and move the clutter and junk out of the area the photo is taken and actually present the rig at it's best. 20 years ago I bought my 21 ft Sailboat on Ebay for 252.50 after one guy bid me up simply because the seller had posted three very poor quality photos of it in the Ebay add and had a rather poorly written add. The outboard motor was and still is worth more than I paid for the boat. The 27 ft tall aluminum mast was worth several hundred and still is. I could honestly sell the mast for more by it's self than I want for the boat. I'd have to liken some of these adds to going to a restaurant where the cook just slaps the food on the plate how ever it lands there rather than presenting the food on the plate. |

At least you see what you get with that one. Not like the old days when they scuffed them with DA and laid two or three coats of primer on them before putting them up for sale with a lot of hidden issues under the primer. |

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
I'm thinking that 54 was a pretty nice truck about 25 years ago with stock fenders all the way around and no nonsense on it. If I dug out and went though my show photos from the 90's I think I have a photo or two of it. Poor thing sure fell into the wrong hands but outside of the hacked grill I'd say it can be fixed mainly by unbolting the trailer fenders and putting the correct fenders back on it. Truth be known he probably has all of the original fenders.
