Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
I believe the issue here is the federal numbering vin rules and the latest computer software. Under the new regulations the vins must be 17 digits and conform with certain parameters......the number in the first position does not conform to that software configuration. Kieth :gmc2:

I'm glad you've had a chance to get back going on this project. I have really missed seeing the progress on it.

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
Well Jimmy the bondo has been a trial and error and really not because of the product per say. The problem has been trying to not burn up the original paint. So I have not been totally happy with the coating on this. The reason low heat ... so the powder did not flow the greatest.
But having said that , I think the product will work well with more experiance. But its all good the Faux Patina effect starts this week at Early Iron Restoration. That is Jesse Frericks new shop, Jesse did the majority of the fab. work on this at Extreme . Stay Tuned.... |
Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
That's great news. I know when I did a batch of prototype mountain bike frames for Foes Racing, they had used regular body filler on a few spots the first time and it burnt and bubbled through in the oven. It took forever to get that crap off so I could reshoot it and told them just to live with it next time.
Now get this pig together, it's taking forever! |

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
Raceway white. Not too shinny with a parchment hue. That would look awesome! I thought it was a cardinal color, trying to find it now.

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
Chad64chevy,
We only cut the slots for the center frame bumper mounts. They allen head bumper bolts were tig welded on. I kinda got a thing for tig welding ( like the detail) . The outer bolts are they only for appearance. |
Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
