Re: SPID Picture thread?
Here's my driver. Surprised to see the glove box door is dark blue when the rest of the interior is medium. But I'm no expert on paint schemes. At least some of the interior was "repainted" medium blue, and rather poorly.
558 is a great paint scheme, though they repainted this truck medium blue and white between the belts. The license plate was a fluke. Odds it would read "- 400" when they print these with letters and numbers? She didn't want to be just a parts truck :chevy: https://scontent-sjc2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...e2&oe=591C0B10 |

Re: SPID Picture thread?
My 67 lwb. I find the combo interesting in that it's Panoramic cab, has side trim but the grill and front bumper are white and the wing windows are black. Most Panoramic cabs or those with side trim seem to have chrome grill, front bumper and wing windows.
I like trying to put myself in the original owners shoes picking out the options to figure out what they were thinking. . "Well she's gonna work so give me the HD Spring, HD clutch, step bumper and RV Jr mirrors. Foam seat and Delux Air Heat sounds comfy." You'd think this where the guy needing a basic workhorse would've stopped checking boxes. But the boxes for side trim and panoramic cab got checked too. I wonder if he wanted a little extra style, had a little extra to spend or just got talked into checking those boxes by the salesman and/or wife?!?! http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...pslvgh26bn.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...psnukarrjc.jpg |

Re: SPID Picture thread?
What does the SE in the top right hand corner on the SPID mean? I see on some trucks there is a number starting with FTO and on some it is blank.

Re: SPID Picture thread?
I've noticed that some trucks say 4 season air conditioning and others say all weather air conditioning, what is the difference between the 2?

This truck was for sale near a California military base. It was factory stamped COPO with some letters and numbers at the bottom of the VIN plate.
|
Re: SPID Picture thread?
That is an ex-military vehicle, it has the GSA label on it. Do you know what base?
Looks like strata blue paint so I would guess an Air Force Base. Maybe a Northern Cali truck with the antifreeze @ 34 degrees or that is just a Mil-Spec option. Travis AFB or Beale AFB maybe? Hard to say, they have closed a lot of AFBs in California since that truck was built. |
Re: SPID Picture thread?
Looks like it came with the service/parts manuals too, never seen that option ever.

Thanks jocko. It was just a gb door at a swap meet That seemed to have a few unusual items listed so I took a pic for this thread. It looked too be a 67-68 gb door. The fella knew nothing of the truck it came from, I had asked him about the shoulder belts and he just shrugged. Oh well. |

Had to bring to top with laptop so I could find with my phone. Was looking for a decent glove box door to replace the one in my GMC. Here are a few more spids for you guys that dig these.
Haha, too funny. I actually took all three pictures with my phone in correct position for phone posting. Weird |

A Buddy of mine bought this truck and parted it out. I bought what was left after he picked it over. The rolling chassis, transmission, 327 engine and truck box.

Re: SPID Picture thread?
There are threads on OD, just have to do a search. I parted both trucks and sold the complete trans systems with all the overdrives stuff, even the cables and handles. Honestly didn't know that much about them.

I've been negotiating on a carport find for a while. I was finally allowed to spend some time crawling around it. I'm not sure how it's going to turn out but here's a cool spid for 35,000 mile truck.
They're not uploading, I'll keep trying. |

Here is my 1972 GMC Sierra SWB SPID. Was it common for a non-4x4 truck to have on-off road tires?
