Spent a little time after the 'Bama show to get the licence plate done . If y'all remember it was still the original yellow . Decided to keep it somewhat rustic in appearance . This was all done in powder coat. I call it .. Powder Patina . ;) After stripping it, applied the off white powder and baked . Once cooled , I simply covered it with 20% black and used a fine brush to move the black powder around and expose the white lettering . The powder being brushed will tend to accumulate around the letters and numbers . Easily removed using air . Just hold the blow gun far enough away and it will clear the accumulation without disturbing anything else .
The beauty of this is that you can play with it until you get the effect you like . And if you mess up , simply blow all the powder off and start over with the secondary color .
Once I liked what I was seeing , put it back in the oven to bake that color . Finished it off with 80% clear powder which gives it just the right sheen .
This was before baking the black powder. You can see the detail a little better in this pic .

Thanks !
I'm trying my best to get a lil seat time in it this weekend . Mostly to play with the tune some more . Haven't had much free time for the last 5-6 months it seems . A/C is still not complete but shouldn't be much longer

Re: Bowtie468's Extreme '68 BuildPage

Just wondering if anyone has come up with any 31x16x20 tires. This is what I was planning to run and I went to order them from M/T and realized that they no longer make them. I tried calling, but they are shut down for the holidays.
Has anyone tried to squeeze any 31x18x20s under a 67-72 C10? I just did a little measuring and it looks like they may fit. Now finding a wheel my be tricky.

Extremely awesome truck by the way.

Not sure if you can get them in there without frame mods . You can try calling M/T but i never got the answer i was looking for . ill just go back to 29" when the time comes , unless i wind up selling it before then .

Ive got a couple of teasers that were released. Before leaving last Sunday for our annual Cruisin the Coast getaway, wifey and me made a short trip north to Natchitoches, LA for their annual car show. Great show set on the river in the towns historic district. Had a great day with friends and was honored to take home " Best Paint" for the show.

And here's the two shots that were released as teasers. We shot at HardRock Casino in Biloxi, MS. before sunrise and then raced to the top story of the parking tower to shoot with the sunrise . The second pic was later at a different tower while watching the Autocross event.

Still the same. Havent done anything with the LS1 either. I thought about putting it in the '68 but held off as it's unofficially for sale . still testing the waters.

Appreciate that ! Jeff Eatley did a great job with this. He set up to catch the sun lighting up the underside of the truck and just coming up thru the back glass. Shortly after the sun broke the horizon, this shot came and went in a matter of a few seconds. Pretty cool to see how it was done.
