Whats your front suspension setup. Im trying to find a setup to hold the weight of a 6bt in my 59 apache and bag it as well. Im not doing the 4bt due to its vibration/engine noise. Im thinking i might just narrow a c30 front clip and use that

I have s-10 front half, boxed in, extra cross members. D.O.M. tubular A arms. 6" 2600 bags and I'm running a 200 psi system. Whatever front end you use I suggest using a 7" airbag. Mine lifts fine but bigger air bag you can use less psi.
Good luck with your build.

Here is 49Hardtimes. Just finishing up. Been over 800hrs in this build. Just took it on a 100 mile round trip. Working on electronic speedo conversion this week. Completed tach conversion. Full air ride with accuair Vu4, AVS controller, airlift bags. Full roller vortec sbc, 5 speed trans, full stainless exhaust, all new upgraded brake system. Tons of metal work went into this one. Made custom bolt on bear claws, keyless entry, list goes on and on. some videos in my signature.

Hey guys got a question I'm about to start my build on my 51 5 window. The plan is to use an s10 front clip and mate that to the original frame and box it in and just notch the rear. My question is what kind of front end kits or setups are yall using there's a lot of sweet rides in here definitely got me motivated on this build thanks for any input

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59

big moss, is all you have is the s10 clip? I wouldn't recommend that unless you have a frame table and know what your doing. I'd just use the whole frame. Or you can get IFS set ups based on the M2 for a decent price. You can get the xmember, control arms and spindles all separate and that will get you going for moch up. You can get those IFS xmembers that bold on too, if your not comfortable welding or setting up the xmember.

99 I've got a frame table and definitely feel comfortable doing it this will be my first ad build. So I'm just bouncing ideas around.

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59

I'm running one Viair 480C 100% duty compressor with a 5 gallon tank. Not sure if I need another compressor or not but I can always add another one. I have to raise my bed floor about 6-8 inches to accommodate the step notch so I'm thinking of tucking everything in the extra space. I hope to get working on that design this week to see how it will work.

thanks murd.... Iam still not sure if to go 2 pumps or 1... not that I will play with it all that much...only reason I can think of is if one pump craps out on me.

99 to Life 09-04-2015 10:57 PM

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59

My advise, just run two pumps. well worth the investment and the little extra mounting.
You will use the air more than you think and for sure its a nice safety net if a comp dies. I'd also suggest plumbing in a shrader valve to manually fill the tank.

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59

It was a lot of work but worth it in the end. I had stripped everything to the frame except the cab (I didn't have the facility and equipment) then painted the frame and underside with POR-15. I rewired it, did some minor mechanical work but sent it out for disc brake upgrade and A/C (I live in Florida) installation. I'm 70 years old so this is my last major project, but I have to keep busy so there will always be something in the garage.

Thanks for the comment

Paul

Thank guys, good to know other truckies like it. The engine isn't ready for public consumption yet. I cleaned and painted everything when the body was off but after months of sitting in various shops and garages it needs a refreshing. Here's some before and after pics.

Thanks again
