Despite living in England, I know answers are everywhere Was wondering what options are out there for lifting cars (think American and bigger than Micra or Fiat 500) I am busy with this slow build carport that will be low as 7’4” or 2200mm or 2.2 meters on the beams. The Galaxy is about 5’10” or 1800mm or 1.8 meter tall. So it leaves about 18” or 450mm to rise to the minimum. If you come forward toward the entrance though it increases to as much as 8’ or 2400mm or 2.4meter but you lose most of your cover. When I welded the Blazer it was just axle stands and replacing the front end parts was similar with a tall jack and axle stands. Up she goes. Here are a couple of options for you:
https://www.quickjack.com/ https://www.maxjax.com/maxjax-right-for-you/ Possible drawback for you on the maxjax is that it should be bolted down when in use. Your paving stones would not allow that to be done... For doing things like brakes and suspension work, the quickjack might be a good option. There are others on the market, but I knew about these two. |

I like the quick jack option, but it seems like it would be in the way more than standard jack stands. I am not that old yet, so the old fashion way is still my choice. (I am sticking with that last statement regardless of what my body says) Also, getting the checkbook open is tuff, even if I wasn't married to an accountant, I am CHEAP. :lol:

This has lived outdoors in all weathers, all the yea5s, so will need me to make some rot repairs as one end already fell off when I unloaded it. Makes lifting a four man lift Sized cab off the chassis on your own using the engine hoist a piece of cake. https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag..._IMG_4172.HEIC The cab roller frame, built by Martin is a brilliant tool, despite an old wooden pallet with wheels doing the same job. The cab floor is stepped, and that’s reflected in the design, then add in four mounting points to secure it, and you can roll the cab about while working on it. Years ago when I made this fake pump, these colours appealed, they still do. The question is, do I develop the fake theme or use an existing brand. Perfectly timed by mate Scott @Jabbo was an offer of a used (not a SnapOn) wheeled toolbox for my garage. I have a SnapOn item that came here for £75.00 a year or two ago from a mate. I mentioned previously that my karma bucket was overflowing.
Where Sally lives, a bunch of paving guys with a Transit pickup and some vans have been doing a load of paving for older residents. Her neighbour two houses down asked if she wanted to buy a mower (petrol, she likes electric) so she declined. But asked me when I popped around. Nice find on the mower stuff. On your cab dolly, make sure you use some large capacity and diameter wheels. Mine had smaller diameter wheels at first and with the weight of the cab on it, it didn't wheel around very well

@georgeb and @joem83 @pauly there you go. Part of my future planning or dreaming is something like these Owner type, or Tamiya style cars mostly seen in the Philippines. Those Jeep things reminds me of a RoadKill episode with Frieberger and Finnegan in a lowered Jeep. Not my style, but they look OK.

He basically said that if he had asked himself to go look at this for For him, he would be very happy to report that it was way better than expected. So I sent him the money by Paypal within 10 minutes. The sort of thing that pleased guys like @CraigRK and @PaulY no end, getting their grubby fingers in my wallet, spending my money on stuff for me. I will post pics tomorrow or soon if you guys want to see what my Purgatory looks like. I just need to figure the most affordable, sensible way to get the Rezin Rockit (Thanks @pistonpopper for suggesting the name) down from Glasgow to Rochester, and no, it has no motor or trans fitted right now.
