This is as much of a side shot as I have right now. This is before I took it down another inch in the front. It's covered in snow now.

Stock 250 straight six, with a turbo 400 trans and a 12 bolt rear. Dropped with spindles and coils in the front, flipped in the back. 255/60-15 all around on 15x6.5 rally's (need a set of 8's for the back). Going for a really simple "dropped stock work truck" look when I'm done. Just finished the 1973 grille today. When I get the bodywork done, going to shoot it a dark hunter (or British racing) green. Got a build thread going - "my first build thread - 1980 stepside". Hope to get it back outside for some better, more current pics tomorrow...

nice truck man!

Not sure on the subtle changes, but noticed the back is lowered, nice truck. What running gear, small block auto.

I can only post one pic at a time for now but I'll post a thread on this truck soon. Not much rust on it. Paint, rims, and interior coming soon in the next couple of months

My 1983 Sierra 70,000 original miles. Bought new August 1983. Replaced broken grille last year with one from a 1985 junk yard truck. Those wheels have been on it since 1989.

It appears to be a base model GMC Sierra. No code of that year:

1982-1987

Base model - Chevy Custom Deluxe/GMC Sierra
Z62 - Chevy Scottsdale/GMC High Sierra (Note this change)
Z84 - Discontinued
YE9 - Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra Classic

It is the base trim level Sierra 1500. Only options were the 305 4bbl engine, th350 transmission, air conditioning and rear bumper. (no radio) Still have the window sticker. Paid 7600.00 brand new. MSRP was 10,030.00. Never been into the engine or transmission except to change the distributer. Had to change the seat from the same junk yard 1985 model that I used for the grille. Still runs and drives perfect. I still have the steel 15x7 wheels with the dog dish caps. When tires where out (more like dry rot) I switch rims with fresh tires each time 4 xs so far. Today the odometer reads 70,630 mile and has never rolled.

Nice lookin unit. Patina is just right and those wheels are sweet! Bonus points awarded if you remember what they are. They look like American Gamblers, or maybe Progressive something?

Centerline Champ 500's. They had the 3 bar fake knock-offs but they were confiscated by someone who needed them more than me.

Still in progress, but she's on her way to being done this summer! Fixin to rebuild the small block, install a new rear-end, and a flip kit, c-notches, and 2 1/2in drop spindles. Already relocated the front leaf spring brackets, replaced the rear brackets and hangers, and added 3in drop springs.

Picked up this 87 R10 a couple weeks ago...survivor truck still with original paint. Not perfect, but very well taken care of being it's 27yrs old! Here's a few pics.
On the way home with "Ruby"....

Interior:

Engine:
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...ps1fbf7246.jpg

I removed the bed rails and factory bed liner, and put new tires all the way around. The others had great tread but were dry rotted.
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...ps8010bab7.jpg

I've since removed the push bars up front yesterday (no pic yet). Next step is lowering it a bit...haven't 100% made up my mind on how far yet? But after a few weeks of searching trucks I finally found a truck where the guy had the same ideas (minus the front clip) opinions on how much this truck is lowered?
