Might sound goofy, but Im gonna say "Bad to the bone" on this 4by. Just looks..tough. Im thinking of 2in cowl for my 2wd. Ever listen to old Frank Zappa? "Going to Montana soon, gonna be a dental floss tycoon. Im gonna ride the pygmy Pony" Yeah, Im a little.... out there.

Oh yea I forgot about the Champ 500's. I think just about everybody making wheels in the late 80's and early 90's had a wheel like that. I like the look of them though, they fit the period.

Here is my new one I've had for a few months. Its a 84 swb 350/350turbo. bought truck without motor. Installed the spare 350 I had for my 84 Corvette, RPM performer intake, Edelbrock carb, RV cam, noisy timing gears, headers and full boar single chamber race mufflers. Made a custom hidden hitch behind the license plate, rear air shocks, white face gauges, relocated head unit, replaced every single light bulb in the truck with led's, rear view mirror out of an 04 Silverado with temp and compass along with the sun visors, and just finished putting in new radiator and electric fan. Still need to repaint it find different wheels, replace the interior and find a new windshield.Attachment 1231981

If those are 20's for the rims, I say that looks like a 4/6 or a 5/7 drop on that truck. I think the person who built that truck is a member on here...

That is bigarmzz's truck he built and sold a few years ago. Here is the thread that lists the wheels/tires that are on it. It says its a 5/7 drop...

New to the forum, and WOW there are alot of nice trucks on here! :metal:

Here is mine I recently picked up..

-TX truck came north in 2012
-'78 K-10 Big 10, short box 4wd
-Freshly rebuilt 4 spd
-350ci with mild cam (I am told, but have not yet confirmed the cam), Edelbrock carb and intake
-Full length headers with dual exhaust
-12 bolt rear with 3.73 Richmond gears and locker
-10 bolt Dana 44 up front
-4" suspension lift with 35" BFG's
-new full chassis wiring harness
-new cab mounts

It has had alot of recent work, seems as though a full restore was well underway but stopped a bit short.

It still needs a fresh paint job and for the interior to be done nice. (LMC Truck is going to LOVE me!)

It also needs a new rear window as 3 of the 4 pieces of aluminum trim on my sliders are missing leaving quite the air gap when the sliding window is closed. I plan to replace it with a brand new sliding window from LMC truck unless I get advice on a better source that is a little cheaper. Has a couple of small stone chips in the windshield and the door windows are a bit scratched as can be expected for a 36 year old truck. So at some point it will get those replaced as well...

My tentative plans for the color scheme is a dark candy apple red with black rally stripes and keeping the blacked out look with the trim and wheels. I have a used Lund moonvisor coming from a relative on the cheap that will be going on it too. I have always loved the look of a visor on these old trucks.

So here she is...

I like the stance on your truck. What size rims and tries are you running? how much of a lowering kit do you have on it? Nice Ride! I am working on builing a 79 Silverado.

should I fill the hole with a patch or with the original gas cap?

Smooth it with a weld in patch...if you have a different tank that is.

It's a shame there aren't more 73 - 80 models here. they seem to out numbered by about 10-1 by the newer models. I'm thinkin' the "Cash for clunkers" program wasn't such a good idea.

Good point on the cash for clunkers BADAZ, I went to a car show with around 1,000 vehicles last summer and put my big lifted 81 Gm in it with a few other friends rides and was pretty much the only 4wd square body, were a couple 2wds, that was it like 3 of us, to many rusted out and were crushed, sad.

Sweet truck! You have a nice setup and plenty more potential for that thing.

I spy a Cummins. Don't see very many of those in lowered half tons.

While I'm here, I might as well post a pic of my ride. It's a 1978 with a 454, th400, 4.11 gears, 17" Coys wheels, 5" drop in back and 5" drop in front.

Good to see another Utahn up in here! I started with a 3/4 drop and as soon as I did it I had wished I went more. Now when I get mine back together I'll be sittin with a 5.5/7 drop.

Hey, Big Rat. Nice to find another Utahn here as well. I'm in Clearfield. We should get together sometime and compare notes. I just posted a reply to "bohmankid" on his 78 SWB, Apparently he's here in Utah also. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=579636
