Great minds think alike. I just finished the install of my Alpine unit (still need to tuck the wires away). The PO had cut holes in the doors so I filled them with some great 2-ways. I replaced the stock dash speaker with the dual voice coil model from Custom Autosound. Sounds really nice. I'm going with a slim design powered subwoofer under the seat and that will be fine for my tune needs.

Most of us all got runs in our first paint job. Experience has to start somewhere.

did the bench bleed/priming and got the MC installed finally...

went to bleed the brakes and the bleeder screw valve on the left rear snapped off.

yep.

couldn't get it out, broke some extractors trying... put new wheel cylinder in...

maybe I can bleed the brakes today.... I hope.

That... or I'm just gonna burn it to the ground.

I've had those days! My work truck ('97 K1500) is in the shop for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. Power steering pump, Radiator, and last night the fuel pump went out. :banghead:

Those of you with the radios that have USB ports, can you just put music on a flash drive and plug it in there, or is that for plugging in an Ipod?

rebuilt the carb, drained a little over 4 gallons of 6 year old gas, put good gas in, new filter and pump. got it running decent for the first time in 6 years. also found a crappy patch job on the frame.

Put new wheel cylinders and brake shoes on the front. Those drums are gonna have to go soon tho, they just don't stop like what I'm used to.

Future plans include power windows & locks so I decided to add the rubber conduits that I removed from a square body Ford Bronco. I removed both front fenders, measured up 2-1/2" from the top of the lower door hinges marked & drilled my holes for the conduits. The door jamb received 1-1/2" holes and the door received 2" holes to match the conduits. I installed the boots or conduits (what ever you want to call them) taped the edge of the doors & fenders to prevent chipping the paint and put it all back together. Now when I get my power windows & locks I'll have a head start. While I was at it I fixed the door jamb switch for the passenger door to turn off the courtesy lights when the door is closed by adding 3 stainless washers behind the switch. Of course I had to spill a little blood while I was doing all of this.

I have to install a conduit hose in mine for the power windows. It looks like your using a pretty big. The hose that came in the New Relics kit is around 1".
How are you going to route yor wires after in the hinge post.
Thanks for your post
