I sprayed the under side with Eastwood's rust encapsulater and the top I whipped down with Pix-Lex rust preventer. Just wipe it down with a prep solve and start your finish work!

Thanks Jamison. How's the CG going? Any progress on the truck(s)? You don't have a good 68 hood do you?

Sorry this is one I owed Rob from awhile back and finally got around to complete it. If someone were to pay out right it would be upwards of $600 with a cowl, labor and over sized shipping!

Re: 1969 Burb build-up (Bags, 5.3/4L60E, repaint, interior....)

I have been in Spain for the last 2 months learning to fly the new HC-144. I have made little to no progress on the truck. We are trying to sell our house and that took most of my time prior to leaving. I did put on rear disc brakes and a CPP master cylinder. I have 2 67/68 hoods, both are dented in the front. I am pretty sure I am only going to need one of them, get ahold of me when you get back into town.

Kevin, thanx for the reply. I can mess a few of the ones I have up for $600. Did you cut out the vent or just weld the patch over the top of it?

Re: 1969 Burb build-up (Bags, 5.3/4L60E, repaint, interior....)

I tacked the filler piece over it then flipped it over and cut out the main vent, did some hammer work, re-installed and finished welding, Hamer and dolly some more and ground it down. Take your time as this mod is one of the hardest to do and the easiest to really screw up. With the cowl being so flat and flimsy it WILL buckle and twist real quick. The trick is knowing how to get it back into to shape after it goes nuts and still fit right.

Can't wait to see it.

I was just wondering if was a factory color because it looks similiar to the red on my '69. Mine was repainted, and I do not know what exact color it is.

I'm pretty certain it is a factory color. I'm using the same paint scheme and colors that are on the ECE Truck:

Beautiful choice of red!!!! Red is always a beautiful color but when you go with a rich, and deep red it is just pure eye candy!!!

Great job!

Finally fixed the ART lower shock mounts (they finally changed the design). What a pain, I had about an hour of cutting and grinding in each one......:( Oh, well they are fixed now and rollin' low shouldn't be a hazzard, :D.

I also got the oil pan figured out too. I tried the F-body pan, but it was about a 1/2" to long back to front. Soooooo, after a little more research, I got the Cadillac CSTv pan. It fits like a it was made to go there. It's 3/4" above the crossmember and I should never have to worry about hanging it on anything, :). Here are a couple of pictures and a link to a discussion on the different pans.
