Re: PO has me PO'd
Here's some current progress
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace375.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace376.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace377.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace374.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace372.jpg I don't know who made this rocker, but it snapped into place...Fits like a glove to the original location. The bottom rear of the rocker panel has to be pulled in some more to keep door alignment correct in that area Hardest part so far was getting rid of the old rusty metal and attempts at patch panels, about a weeks worth of cutting to get it to this point. Now its about time to consider some bracing so I can remove longitudes and test fit the floor pan-next week... One problem on the lower 'A' post, seems the rust went up pretty high, I'll have to deal with the nut plate for the lower hinge |
Re: PO has me PO'd
I guess I missed the switch, but what are you working on here? I'm thinking you have gotten a second project?

Re: PO has me PO'd
Yeah just a little side job to get some parts for the Jimmy/Chevy. Trying to see if the full floorboard can be modified for the Blazer/Jimmy trucks. It looks doable so far, just a reinforcement panel under the pass. side seat has tobe made or your old one has tobe used. Still have to look at the lower 'B' post area, see how it connects there
How's Japan treating you? Thanks Kurt, you and I must have been typing at the same time |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Yeah thanks for the link Kurt, I guess I missed that one.
Must be Kurt types a little faster than you J.  |

Ha, 35 is like three times as fast as me. J-pan is still here. Nothing we can't handle. If the kids over here would behave themselves though, we'd have a bit more fun.

Re: PO has me PO'd
You remember the optempo for FDNF is killer right? As soon as they get off the ship, they light their hair on fire and it pisses the locals off. So, we spend a lot of our time trying to placate them. Its not really the kids fault, they are just under so much pressure over here, and the scrutiny is really tight.

Re: PO has me PO'd
Were you never a forward deployed Marine?
If not, the Operational Tempo over here is very high. Usually around 270 or more days out of the year, these guys are underway and that includes the Marine's that are assigned to the ships. So, when they get some time in homeport there are usually liberty incidents. More so in Yokosuka and Okinawa than here. As always, being that we are in Japan, its an international incident, so the Chain of Command is always putting out fires with the Govt of Japan. Makes for an interesting life. |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Took some diagonal measurements to make sure the cab isn't racked and then cut out one of the factory braces, didn't seem to move

Re: PO has me PO'd
Fit like a glove, little attention is needed around the trans. hump, but we'll address that as we deal with it. Will post up advice. Rite now it's zip screwed so I can move things around on the final fit. Seems to be well designed and manufactored, lines are crisp and in the rite location
Still have to install lower a and b post patches, as well as kick panels and firewall Next challenge is the firewall. Jon put the bottom or rear in first and tilted the floorboard in towards the roof, the second pc. of the longitudes (mounted on the firewall) interferred with pushing the floorboard in and up, so we just sliced them up to allow movement for installation of the floorboard |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Looking good Jim...nice work. :metal:

Re: PO has me PO'd
Wondering why there's a hole in the cowl...?
What's the install 'skill' level feeling like Jim? Could this piece be used for a guy's first project? |
