I know that. This looks like it was out in the sun for a year. It's flat black. Not even satin black. I'll see what POR-15 says.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up

I just got off the phone with POR-15. He said that Semi Gloss is inconsistent, and that's there version of Semi Gloss. I asked if it would work to paint over it. He said yes, but I should scuff it up first. I have another unopened can of the same stuff, and he said I could exchange it for Chassis Black. MORE WORK & TIME LOSSED :m6:

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up

I just sprayed over the POR-15 with rattle can Rustoleum Gloss black. It looks better that the gloss black POR-15. It's not as durable as the POR-15 though, but it will never rust, and has a great base. Now I deserve that beer, but it's too early.

I did have it covered when I was blasting it. This is a photo shoot. I want it to look good for you guys. I had cardboard, and covers all over the place when I was painting it. Notice the floor is even clean. :metal:

Here I thought I was the only one that sand blasted inside their garage.

Since I can't get the 65 on the lift to finish the body mounts., I decided to work on the cab instead. I started to flare the drip rails. I hammered them down, and ground the high spots down, then DAed the paint off. Next I'll fill the gaps with a metal strip, grind smooth, and Bondo.

I'm welding up that big gap also at the windshield.

I almost forgot to tell all of you. I finally talked my Wife into selling our 2006 Subaru Outback, and buy another Corvette with what we get for it. Kelly Blue Book value is $24.660. I can buy a nice low mileage 2000 - 2004 C-5 Vette for what we get the Subaru. I am so excited. It will be our 10th Corvette. I've been without a Corvette for 5 years, and it's been killing me.

Your too late to do it to yours, aren't you? You would have to repaint just the roof.
