Re: Daverods 52
Did you do it or have it done? How much to rebuild it. I was thinking of just buying a new/rebuilt one. I just looked I see you did it yourself.

Re: Daverods 52
Yep, did it myself... bought a rebuild video, and a Monster in a Box kit and went at it...
Monkey see, monkey do! Haven't started the truck up yet... so can't say if it works or not... lol. Cheers, Ted. |
Re: Daverods 52
I priced a 700r4 through Idaho Transmission Warehouse in Idaho Falls and they quoted me a grand to buy one from them with a core or the same price if they rebuild yours. That was about 3 months ago when I talked to them.

Rivit rivit.;) Who needs a head liner. It's really quite solid. Couple more hours left. Think it'll get my windows tinted.

Re: Daverods 52
It's going to glow in there when headlight lights hit it. Is that why your tinting the windows? :haha:

maybe... I think there ia also a paint that stops the reflection. I think by the time the seats are in and I put alittle curtain in the back window it will be ok. Went camping saw a couple cool old trucks. The patina on the orange one was very cool. Much brighter than the pic.

Re: Daverods 52
That's my kind of camping....

Like the gas gage idea. I'm going to use it with a keg for a tank.

Re: Daverods 52

Re: Daverods 52
That first picture in post 459 sure looks like a lot of vintage iron there in the background... you did not find anything ???
The cow hide looks like a good seat cover or a fun winter rug in the Tipi  |
Re: Daverods 52
I went for a trip into the woods to get the rest of the truck I took the frame from and someone took the cab. They also took another truck that was there. It would have been some good yard art. My bud said he found a coupe. He told me were to look but i did'nt find it. Said it had a good cab and grill.. Next weekend.:metal: The guy at the car show wanted 1000 each for those bodies in the picture.:uhmk: I love the hide I drove around all weekend with in the old ladies truck. Now I just have to find out what goes under it. All I have is the springs.

Re: Daverods 52
Hey I noticed the Grease Gas and Girls tin you had hanging on the wall, I like that. I like the license plates. boy that is gonna be loud in there!!
|
Re: Daverods 52
I don't see why it would be loud. My 64 has a metal head liner. Oh ya I forgot it's kinda loud in there too. That's what the 7.1 surround sound is for. What?;) The plates are really solid. I rivited them all together. It's kinda like a plate roll cage.
|
Re: Daverods 52
well, I say that because I only have a cardboard headliner and my cab gets loud with windows up or down. It sucks when you are trying to have a conversation with someone, I got quite a bit of deadener on the floor and firewall, I think next time I am going to undercoat the whole hood and under the inner fenders. I think they are the culprits.
anyway, when we gonna see a test drive?? |
Re: Daverods 52
do you need a set of plates from the motherland? Dave.
ron |
Re: Daverods 52
I do have one from BC in my 64. But I'm always wantin some plates.;) Most the ones in my 52 are new. I buy them in lots of ten from some guys that buys all the left over ones.:uhmk:
Test drive is still a ways off. I still need a lot of stuff. Wiring harness, keg tank, brakes/brake lines/gas lines/new transmission, driveline cut, exhaust, and on and on and on. If I stay busy during the winter I hope to have it running by summer. All depends on the money tree. Might have to cash in my gold teeth. |
Re: Daverods 52
Get the Dawg to water the money tree!!!

Re: Daverods 52
