Thanks man I am very blessed. Have great family and friends and all the other stuff house and cars are just pluses. Glad you like the truck.

might have missed something not sure but here it is, also I have a ton of parts off this truck I could sell If I wanted.44000 total:uhmk:

I concur....

I wish I had the time and talent to build my own stuff!!!!!

It's funny how these trucks get carried away once they get blown apart. Stuff really adds up.

(just think if you paid a shop to do all the labor!)

I have recently seen a lot of members swear a truck isn't worth $20k-$30k.
This is a great "reality check" for all the truck builders out there.
Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful truck!

Yeah. It adds up quick.

Super build. If I had the resources and the skills I'd have a clone of your truck. It's perfect superfly.

Well look at it this way. What could you have gotten for $38k if you went and got a truck at the dealer. Maybe a 09 10 crew cab, or a used Tahoe. Park them next to each other... Which one would you drive? I know my choice.
Truck came out killer, I detailed my dentist camry the other day and just laughed thinking of pulling up to your dentist apt and seeing this parked in the Dr parking spot. Lol

Not at all but it does give the truck a good look when the hood it up. I hate it when u go to a show and the hood is way up on the air
It takes away from the look. But its sucks to work on when they are low

You are so right. Tahoe or new chevy truck. I will take the 72 any day. Not to mention no smog and cheep insurance. 80000 in coverage on this truck 250 a year. Got to love it.

Well, if he's anything like me the new trucks just don't "do it" for him & the way new trucks are if you get this option, you have to get that option & so on... Besides that, the new trucks are nice, but just don't have the soul & character of these old rigs! Besides, why toss aside old American steel for something new - breathe new life into it & make it your own!!!

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Amen to that. I watched my dad drive a '71 Cheyenne 45-minutes each way to work for several years. Everytime something new at the house broke down, it was used to pull that thing home so he could fix it. If that thing ever broke, it was a cheap fix, then back out on the road. It served me well throughout high school. Hopefully I'll find the time to fix it up and make it my driver one day.

after trimming the bottom edge of the hood will it have to be braced in some way ?? i dont know how that lip plays into the structural integrity of the hood ??

It looks like your idea of a daily driver and mine are worlds apart. Looks absolutely fabulous. Could you post the info on the red brake line holders? Also would like to know what the mini starter motor is.

I drive older stuff because that's what I prefer. In the DFW area of TX, the daily grind is much better w/pwr steering, pwr disc brakes, & a/c in an older truck :metal:.

Does that $250/yr for $80K in coverage allow driving it w/o milage or storage restictions like a new truck can/would be used?

This is unlimited milage. It helps that my buisness spends 50000 dollars a yr insurance with the insurance company.

Here is the engine with the headers. Finished the lokar floor shifter and cut the hole in the hump. I am starting the wiring tonight and pulling the glass front and rear to paint the inside red. Then off to the exhaust shop. I want the truck finished this month. It will never be finished but at least I can drive it. http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...ny/body022.jpg
