Nice work as always. Looking forward to the finished product. I'm digging the time delay photography. I totally understand. I hope to see some of your work in person some day myself when I'm up that way.

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Hope to see it down my way some day ;) That axle looks mighty narrow...

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Lookin good as always. no doubt you got some skillz!
IIRC correctly with K1's fate...I'd keep K2 a bit of secret too. Looking forward to see the final product. This truck has a lot of cool features and bad ass metal work. I just wish I could afford to hire you to build something for me! |

ahhhh dang! I forgot about your shortstep getting stolen too! Ouch. Yes....I'd say too many eyes/ears can frequent this site w/o even being a member, searching for quality trucks to nab. Best to do whats needed to keep our treasures as safe as we can.

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Looks awesome. Question.....is that all you will be running for cooling the transmission? If so...that type of cooler really cools that well?

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Sweet I'm using same motor tranny set up cooler as well. Was wondering how well it actually worked

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Amazing that it's that efficient. I could have seen it as a 2nd cooler behind the one in the radiator...but would have never imagined that little cooler to be efficient enough to run as a stand alone.

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
I was at Kenny davis Hot Rods shop the other night and there were several high dollar rods running the same set up !

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
the fan is the 550 horse up front that is dragging that "little" cooler down the highway... that should provide plenty of airflow. trust me it's working!;)

once engine and trans were in, turned my attention to getting the driveshaft made, and the exhaust made too, so the chassis would be complete the driveshaft is 3.5" steel, .083 wall, with HD spicer ujoints....it fits like a glove....then i installed the headers, and built the 3" mandrul exhaust, with moroso spirial flow mufflers, once it was built, i took it and got is ceramic coated.... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P5210004.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P5210003.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P5210002.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P5210001.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6080014.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6080020.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6080017.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6080016.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6080018.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6080019.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6080022.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6080021.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...6100001_01.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...6100002_01.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...6100004_01.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...6100005_01.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...6100006_01.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6100007.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...616_153549.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...616_153805.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...616_154226.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...616_155425.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6210001.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6210002.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/P6210003.jpg |

Beautiful build, you have mad skills, loving it.

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
that looks great!
presents a question tho in my mind....maybes its just the angles of the shot...but looks like the turndowns are a little too turned down? I mean, are they pointing downward enough to cause a dust cloud when you start it/rev it up? Especially on chalky/sandy roads? I had one once that did that...not for long tho. |
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
The angle is as appears and I appreciate your criticism but unlike your truck this one hasn't seen a sandy chalky road and probably won't! If you wanna review the build up you most likely will determine that this truck isn't a daily like the one the one you had that travelled the chalky sandy roads! And in case you were curious the transmission cooler continues to work awesome just as the other 20-30 we've used!

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
the angle of the tips were designed so that with the truck at full upward suspension travel, it would clear the rear axle housing, shooting the exhaust under the axle, rather then directly at the axle....in the pics keep in mind that the suspension is fully deflated..
Also like killer says, i dont think this will be driven down to many gravel roads. |

criticism? really? I don't think I've ever meant to "criticize" one thing that I've seen 68 short step do...at least if it sounded that way it wasn't meant to. If I wanna review the build? Been doing that since I found it months ago and I am fully aware of what type of build this is...and who's it is. That's the exact reason I made the comment I made....in an effort to help "the owner" of this sweet eye candy to keep it clean...as you don't have to be on a road of dirt...to encounter it. and my question about the cooler was a valid one. it just doesn't look up to the task of cooling a transmission all by itself but evidently with those type of coolers... looks can be misleading. if you don't ask questions...you don't learn the answers. Doesn't mean you're trying to criticize. sorry if I upset anyone...never intended to. |
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Oh, you didn't hit a nerve, continue to ask all the "questions" you'd like, as there much appreciated but the owner has the keeping it clean part down (that's the easy part). I'm sorry you continue to have reservations about the cooler and only hope you find an efficient one that works for you. Take my word for it no short cuts were taken on this build..hope that assures ya and maybe you can see it directly at a show coming your way! Thanks!
