I purchased this one-owner K20 Cheyenne Super in 2005. I just bought it back and it's never leaving the stable again!

Thanks for the comments. This is actually the 8th 72 I've owned and by far the most optioned. Factory buckets, tilt, tach, air, dual batteries, original interior in near mint condition.

The green and white is my last truck. I built it from the axles up. Sold it in 2001 on eBay.

Glad you got your truck back, I did the same, sold mine in 2003 installed a 454 for my buddy a year ago then bought it back just 6 months ago, not leaving again either. Nice color.

Okay, now I can't find any pictures of it in one piece (besides my avatar)... mine is the same minty green color but in 1/2 ton flavor. I scored a set of 3/4 ton axles from a '77 because I'm building it into a tow rig to haul my (future) Toyota rock crawler. Kept the original 292, punched .060", added Schneider 268* cam, stock crank/rods, rebuilt head, Clifford intake/header, got a trans/t-case from a '70 Blazer (my t-case was locked in 4H) and I'm saving to run injection from FAST whenever it gets put back together.

blackhawkip,
real nice truck! I noticed your winch bumper setup. What can you tell us about what you have there? Looks very interesting, and I'm considering some options to put a winch up front with my factory bumper like you did.

Thanks for the help.

The winch was installed by the dealer in 1972 when it was originally purchased new. It is a Hickey Enterprises Sidewinder II winch, part #113007. The mounting kit and bumper mount is also a Hickey, part number 223101.

Hope this helps.....

It's a shame you would post this; if everybody drove your truck what would you drive? Not everyone wants 6 wheels....

Here's my 71, almost done with a 5.3L swap, just need pipes and rear driveline built. Had a 402 BB, stock 350 before that, and 292 straight 6 originally. Dad bought her brand new on special order for a huntin rig. And yes, he had it painted that rediculous color in 1988, she'll be going back to her original green.

I'm new here (first post). Been into Mustangs for the last decade but recently traded my Mustang for this 69 GMC. It has a 454 in it, a 4" Suspension lift and a 4" body lift with 38" Michelin Military tires on it. I am looking to upgrade to a 6" Suspension lift and take 2" out of the body lift this winter. I already removed the 1980's rollbar, LOL. Anyhow, here are some pics.

Not sure yet. Most people like them, they look and fit real nice IMO. Just ordered a new Skyjacker Lift kit, will be selling the 4" kit shortly. Cant wait to eliminate or reduce the body lift.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

The wheel lip mouldings look Great ... in my opinion. They work with the other chrome and add an element of 'detail' to the overall look.

I vote: Keep 'em.

I have the same wheel lip mouldings. Hadn't originally planned on them. But with a 6 inch Skyjacker lift and 35x12's I wanted the extra inch of width to protect the fenders. 3 stage paint is a beaoch to repair!
Couldn't find mud flaps big enough so made my own from two rigid semi truck mud flaps. Made a pattern, cut with a scroll saw, sanded the edges with a bench mount belt sander. Also had the entire lower body and wheel lip moldings covered in clearguard. Have it on all my rigs and is amazing stuff to completely prevent road rash.
Also love my 454!

Actually it was! Nothing a new thermostat housing didn't fix though... :)

4" lift with 35's... Had to do some wrenching when I brought it home, but its a lot better now. The previous owner had put a 350 flywheel on the 383. The driveline had a couple pretty good sides dents as well. The combination of the two issues made for some crazy loud vibrations going down the highway! Luckily it wasn't driven much at all after he did his "repairs". I got the new flywheel on and replaced the driveline with a nice straight one, replaced all the u-joints and fluids, and made sure everything was good and greased. Drives down the road pretty nice now except for all the gas that keeps disappearing at a startlingly rapid pace!
