02/24/12 That was what you said. And you have certainly triumphed !! Well done. It's a pity most people only see a shiny white truck, and not the days and hours of specialist fabrication you and others have done. I am sure you are pleased and proud of the truck, and rightfully so. |
Re: Project truck dream 65"
Great job on your truck, looks real good. What an accomplishment, now go enjoy the fruits of your labor!!

You deserve all the praise you get. Take a look at this thread of a build I did. http://retrorides.proboards.com/thre...ompleted-build I am sure it is well within your skill set. Alternately of course, buy an incomplete project and finish to your tastes. |

Making some sill plates, while wiring ...the guys mentioned a Merc that had them,so here we go.
Drew up a design and had them cut on the waterjet.when I had some extra time ..I polished them up. Next week..off to a CNC to get the centers milled out to allow room for a lens and lighting so they illuminate when the doors open. |

My attempt at making custom illuminated sill plates has paid off! Plugged them in tonight to see how they look..... backside shows the acrylic and wire lite......all wire will be hidden when I get them into place...

This weekend was the crunch..the gas gauge was not working since I got the truck on the road last year.
I narrowed it down the the sending unit.I dont care what anyone says about the ohm rating...make sure....your sure..and test before putting the dam tank in place ! Mine was a 0-90ohm I was told 0-30 ! So now its back in...and I wont run out of gas again(twice last year) |
Re: Project truck dream 65"
So how has it been going in regards to not worrying about this truck being out in the rain?
I get a chuckle out of how we start our builds with every intention of not building something that can't get dirty.... Boy if I had a dollar.... I could not have more respect for a build. Or the builder. Damn fine job. You have become a master builder. |
