don its a lil funny that you are talking about doing a cowl hood and the black truck that you post with the cowl hood, is the same truck and hood that made me think of wanting to do a cowl hood for my truck! I just hope I can get to it this summer like I planned! if you plan on keeping the 'v' in the hood you will need an extra hood to cut a piece to extended the back to get a lil closer to the window and look right, just like the second pic of the truck! the black hood you posted, mine is going to be a lil wider around 30"-34" wide! just to be a lil different and kind of like the mustang cowl hoods are wide but not taper in at the front of the hood like they do on them! keep it up, buddy I know we are both getting closer to are deadline but still have enough work to do to them to keep us busy!! love the updates, when I get my garage cleaned up a bit this weekend I'll start getting some updates on mine

like the jimmy hood. that little bit of flair on the park lights makes it. the cowl induction is a great idea... and by the way, your studio looks cool. going to have to get down there one day.

After looking at the Styling of the GMC hood I've decided that one is the one I'm going to fly... So crazy, my 61 GMC I had back in the day had a chevy hood and tailgate...

The mod to my hood was supposed to be two parts, I stopped before pulled the trigger on doing the outer section, like was done to that truck you shared.

I kind of wish I had done it now, but alas my clock is ticking up here, and I have set a June 15th deadline for my build. Done or not, all work must stop on it, and shift to the Tow Truck for the trip outta here !!!

Good luck on yours, I know now how I would have done it, to keep it straight instead of the ski ramp I ended up with LoL :metal:

Today I tattooed a Linebacker with the Buffalo Bills... Ty Powell #57 :metal:
Played ball here with Harding University, drafted last year by the Seahawks, ended up on their Practice Squad, then the Giants Practice Squad, then finished last season on the Active Roster with the Bills...:metal:

Thanks Guys!!! :mm:
I was almost through the outline when during routine conversation I asked if he played ball here… After all, he was wearing the local University Football shirt...
That's when he explained about his being here to finish more class time in order to get that much closer to his degree. :cong:
Now I have to catch some Bills games this year...;)

He came in the week before and explained what he was looking for, he nixed the first design, it was more of a grasped hand… He wanted it more open, and that's what we came up with…

Thanks Again Guys!!!:burnout:

:hot: UPDATE ALERT!!! :hot:

What a day… Started in around 1030 and finished around 2030...:metal:
Started the day getting the hood for the 90 model painted flat black in order to free up room in the shed to make further progress on the '65...:uhmk:
Then decided to get the radiator core repaired and in primer…

Gonna stretch this out over a few replies, so bear with me...:sumo:
Here are a few pics to get things going…
The work area…
The hood installed with the '65 patiently waiting…
The hood installed...;)

Inner Fenders are all welded and ground, waiting for me to finish prepping for primer...

…and along the way I reached a milestone… Killed my first roll of Welding Wire...:metal: Here's a pic of the empty roll just because…:D

Thanks again Jeff daBears for the patch panels, I can finally call them installed...

Finally…

For those of you who have just tuned in, or somehow or another missed it… The PO decided black paint with rainbow glitter was cool... This is what goes through my head whenever I see any of that paint...:fry: The reason for this tirade… the idiot PO even sprayed this crap on the radiator support… After this epic day…
IT IS GONE!!!:bann:

Lastly… Had a chance to use my new to me Drill Press… Here it is near my wall of toys… small collection of Hot Wheels and such...:jest:

Hope you Guyz and Galz had a Great Easter!!! :ennyd:

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

That pizza box did you up right !! That patch you made looks better than the one I did for that same area on my p-side inner fender, Rock on Man !!

You are going to LOVE that drill press, it really helps to step up your game :metal:

I love Hot Wheels, and all the others like them, I got my first Hot Wheels set when I was 7 and it was the Snake and Mongoose special edition (sure wish I still had that !!) :metal:

You may want to bite the bullet and get the 10lb spool of wire next instead of those small ones... I always buy two at a time because there is little more fustrating than running out of wire in the middle of a weld session, especially on a day or time the supplier is closed.

Good to see some updates on your build man !!
