Here is my 91. It had a 350 originally but now has a 454. Eventually it will get lifted and a 5.9 Cummins.

when i bought mine it had a grant steering wheel and a bedliner in it, by the end of the first day they were both gone! i think the steering wheel is my favorite feature of the interior on these trucks!

I took the plastic bedliner out as soon as it got into my driveway. As far as the steering wheel, I am looking for one of the old school camero steering wheel to replace it with. Anyone have a nice one they would sell?

Here is my new-to-me 1991 GMC 3500 Crewcab Dually.
76k original miles, 7.4l (454), auto w/OD, power locks, power windows.
No rust, one small dent in the outside of the bed, dent in the driver door, needs new driver fender, hood and windshield from tree branch falling on it in windstorm. Also no rear bumper or tailgate.
Is going to replace my '87 GMC crew short-bed; it will be a short bed too, not a dually, just not sure if I am going to do this one with 1/2 ton suspension or not?
Not sure if I should sell the CCSWB I have now and buy an IFS/dropmember and some sort of 4-link for the rear, or rob all the parts off the existing crew (all new front suspension/brakes including Bell-tec spindles/springs/shocks) and get rid of whats left?
I have a little while to figure it out?

A few more pic's.
The bed would be decent if not for all the mod's for the fifth-wheel and camper.
Plus the truck it will be replacing.

If you are talking to me, I believe it was 1/2 ton LCA's due to different ball joints, then all the spindles, brakes, rotors, etc from the same. The UCA's are the same. I think, it was about two years ago I did the swap?

The rear I used the rear half of a 1/2 ton swb frame so not much to do there.
But if I were to go 1/2 ton on the new truck, I plan on cutting and shortening the existing frame so that will require some work on the perches.

I would like to be able to pull a car trailer if I needed, so not sure if I could use 1/2 ton rear springs with an airbag helper kit, or if that might be too much for the springs?

Anymore info on the wheel and tire combo?

Also quick question. Are the bench seat mounts the same for all the model years. I'm looking at a front bench from a 78 suburban or 78 heavy half. I plan on rebuilding and recovering. Just wondering of there's any difference's between them?

Why are you replacing the blue truck? It looks good.

You know, I am really all over the place, a moving target. Every once in a while I just wait for a few ideas to form the crosshairs and then pull the trigger!
The blue one is a plain jane ex-governemnt truck, with no options, not even a dome light. TBI 350/T400. I bought it knowing this and thought that would be OK as I was only building a run-about truck. Once together and driving it though, I started pining for some creature comforts and an overdrive tranny.
Was hoping to find a decent cab and do a cab swap, but found this truck with comforts AND the OD tranny.
I won't be able to get much done before the end of the HS soccer season (coach until end of May), so who know where I end up. I might just do a cab swap and swap trannys while the body's are off?

Not sure if I understand your question completely, but the seat mounts for the front of a crew or Suburban I believe are the same. Seats are solid and don't fold.
While the rear seat for a crew is the same as a regular cab, the MOUNTING BRACKETS are not; you can swap brackets and use a seat out of a regular cab, just make sure you don't throw the brackets away with the seat... like I did... Seat folds but isfixed, they don't adjust forwards or backwards.
And I only know this to be true for 1986-91 trucks, YMMV!

Heres my beauty queen I just drug in. I plan on making a nice every day work truck. Going Black with some nice aluminum wheels and a cummins. The body on this truck is excellent and the frame and under body looks like my 2011 chevy, unbelievable!

Anyone have any info on this truck? It's got a Duramax badge on the door, I found the pic on an ebay ad for Allison to NP205 adapter plans.
