Re: Project Vitamin C-10

congrats, but I will have to agree, aint got a thing to do with the mirrors, I believe it was all the painstaking time spent in the garage that's paying off, very well deserved, that truck is going to fill a garage up with trophies before your done.

Mirrors, Really?
I don't think so!
If people can't appreciate the craftsmanship that is visible on the exterior, then they don't know what they are looking at in the first place.
Awesome job!!! And like Flip said, you are gonna fill a garage with trophies in no-time!!!
I am truly jealous!

Thank you sir! Much appreciated.

Today I went to Coker Tire Cruise in in Chattanooga. I was followed by a 1966 C10 all the way. We stopped in Chatsworth GA at an old gas station turned into a restaurant for pics. We had a good time looking at all the cars and such. every where I turned there were more cars. Also got to see the Coker tire museum.

Parked outside Honest Charley's speed shop

Stopped back by old gas station for their cruise in and to get a bite to eat.

Inside the garage area is where you sit to eat.

For a few more pics click here.

This is the longest trip this old truck has made since the resto 93 miles one way. Boy it like the gas. I'm guessing 12-14 MPG. While it did really good the temp got a little hotter than I like when I was getting closer to home sitting at idle and the electric fan was on. It's never done that before. I can't remember what Tstat it has. I'm thinking 180. With a lazer temp gun the oil pan was @260, intake at water jacket 195, Read hose 190-199. It drug a little when I started it right after I shut it off.

Then I noticed a missing spinner when I got home. I hit some pretty rough roads at spots. It must be on the side of the road.

truck looks great alan, i didnt know the coker tire show was the same weekend as the pigeon forge rod run, looks like they would have scheduled it for a diffrent weekend. a old buddy of mine owns the resteraunt you took the pictures at, they have that show every month and usally have a good turn out. how far up 411 did you come going to chattanooga?

Thanks Jeff. The folks that own the restaurant are very nice. I take it it's a couple that own it. I was impressed.

I turned off 411 onto 76 west to 41 to 75.

I take it you've been to that cruise before in Chatsworth .

Re: Project Vitamin C-10

Well I hate to admit this mistake I made. Through out this build I have always admitted mistakes.

I can't explain how this happened. Since it is running hotter than usual I went to pull the thermostat to see which one was in it. Well….....there wasn't one. Oops. The only thing I can think of is I was mocking up the hoses and never bought one. Problem seems to be fixed.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10

At least it was a simple fix. With all that you had going on, it seems like that could have easily happened.

Congrats on the the Best of Show award.

Did the spinner coming off do any damage to the bed side?

yeah its a couple who own it, the owners name is jeff and he's a super guy. and I have been there a couple times since it's so close to the house, they usally have a good turn out but looks kinda slim this time, probably because of the rod run, they also do it every month as far as I know, next time your out this way give me a yell, not sure if you still have my # or not, if you don't just pm me and i'll give to you.

Thank you wolf. I'm glad this build can help so many people in several ways. You will find your own truck before you know it. Looks like your really close. I can't remember or not if you know about our meet and greet October 11 in canton.
