As for the latest addition, 1991 GMC Crew 4x4, 63,xxx miles, but rough around the edges.
Drove 6 hours one way to get it, then towed my Honda back home with it. Gambled a little bit with that, but it worked out!
I liked how the guy told me that it was fully loaded and that everything worked, then when I showed up he tells me that the AC doesn't work, the passenger window doesn't work, etc.
"one tire is sort of bad, but I have three extra wheels...", which meant that all the tires are pretty much shot and one was unusable, and by wheels he meant three tires, and the two rims with blown tires that used to be on the truck...
Well, the price I was willing to pay dropped accordingly and I still bought it.

The interior looks better in the pictures and this is after I spent $5 at the car-wash vacuuming it out!

It is decent, but looks better in the pictures than it is.
Carpet is pretty much shot, but I will leave it for now, maybe try shampooing it a little more but it is trashed though.

Going for a dive in the roommates sunroof!

As far as I know it is, I have seen pictures of them before, but not in real life.
The rack is a little rough also, like it has actually been used as a roof rack. There are some marks on the roof on each rib, evenly spaced that makes me think there was something else that maybe was to protect it, but are no longer there.
I have bought a few roof racks that I plan to use on my K5 and one came with some stainless trim that spans the width and length on the roof rack so I think that maybe the crew had something similar?

I think the handles behind each door are stock too, but again I am not positive?

I can't be totally specific on the tranny/transfer case but I believe it to be 4l80 and 205, and it is O/D on the tranny.

That is a 1 year only combo. Very desired, very stout.

Picked this up last weekend. 1988, 454, TH400. Everything works and it was unmolested for the most part.

Ok I need some input, to cut it and make a single wheel shortbed like the grey one or to leave it dually and put a shinny new charcoal grey paintjob on her?

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

I'm with meatwagon, don't change it. It looks like you use the truck so it will be pretty much worthless if you make it a short bed srw. The charcoal paint would look good, but if it was me I would do silver with charcoal on the bottom. That will keep it a little cooler in the summer time.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

yeah I plan on charcoal and silver on the bottom, started to spray it a silver then charcoal but got the driver fender sprayed and looked more like primer grey than anything. I am not having it look primer grey so Im going charcoal then silver bottom. I do use it but it would be a lot easier to drive short, it would pull fine just no room in the bed with the fuel tank and tool box

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Ben, my opinion is to keep it as it is and do the paint work. Back of the truck will be more stable with the dual rear tires.
