Good evening I took my truck on it's maiden voyage today!! It is a 1966 c20, 250eng, 4.57 gears, 8ft dump bed w/ grain sides and stockracks and steel floor, pto pump. I bought it at auction 3wks ago from original owner's sale. Been working on it every spare moment. It has always been shedded but mechanically neglected. just a few thing left to do but I can start using as is. I am excited! It is emerald green with white top and matching split rims which I will get rid of as soon as I can. Lowell

Got my firewall all painted this weekend. Started working on cleaning up the frame. Should have the front frame painted this weekend and then it's time to install the engine. Can't wait to get this baby running!

Good ol' Apple iMac flipping the pics again. I even rotated it again. Sorry.

You need to rotate where the shutter is on the right hand side on Iphones and such....maybe the same for iMac?

The actual pictures are fine, both on the iPhone and the iMac, but something happens when uploading the file. Even after flipping the photo and resaving it, it will still end up upside down in the post. I have tried taking the actual picture with the shutter on the opposite side, but then when I upload the photo, it is still upside down.

Been a while since I've been here, but I finally brought ol' Green into the shop here at the Dodge dealership (sharing spaces with a 240sx project - go figure).

Popped off the front drums, grimaced at what I saw, and I have new wheel cylinders, shoes and hardware kit ordered to service the front end.

If you wanna go fast, make sure you can stop too. Right?

Dropped the rear tank and added rubber to all the contact points and straps while my son organized the shelves.

Put it up on jack-stands for cleaning the frame up.

Picked up my muffler and test fit it (perfect), and my center bearing (they brought in the wrong one). Checked the fit of my newly cut bed wood (also perfect).

Looks great. Any advice on drilling the holes? I made my own wood. I can only find hole dimensions for a SWB.

That is really beautiful. Nice job. I've read in other posts that Mar-K has reference information showing the hole locations for both bed types and lengths, although I've never actually checked to see for myself.

What color is you gray? Looks similar in pics.

Great work Gents(and ladies if any),

Finally Finally solved my tahoe rear end and '73 brake lines issue....

Went through about four different companies with no avail to get the main brake line from the 99' Tahoe to "marry" up to the 73's brake line...

Finally someone at one of said companies recommended I go to a Local shop here in San Diego and the Gates of Heaven Opened up LOL:cf:.....

For the first time I didnt see a head being scratched or someone saying; "my computer tells me we dont have such a part" ARGH! Nope this old school pro probably with a ton of know how and experience says..."No big deal Ill have it done in two days"......I was shocked, elated, jumping up and down for Joy:uhmk:...ok the last part didnt happen.

These masters of the Arts of mechanic and custom are a dying breed I hope some of the young guys soak up as much knowledge from these types of folks as possible...

Pics attached of the Master piece that married together GM of 1973 and GM of 1999.....Oh and I mocked up a mid eighties camaro steering column on my 61 cab....Ill be searching on Forum to see how some of you mounted later model columns to 60-66 cabs....(ANY INFO would be appreiciate;))

Keep up the great work and progress!!!!

Mounted a handbrake boot that I felt lucky to score. I had to make a lot of calls to find it. It resulted in an impressive improvement in lowering interior noise and keeping heat and smell out. It used to just pour in from the open hole.

My buddy Chip came up in his cool old wagon and installed a new rag joint. Chip is a wealth of know how and ability on old cars and trucks. The 48 year old original rag joint was really shot and a little horrifying to look at considering how many miles I recently put on it. Easy 50% improvement in steering efficiency. New front shocks and an oil filter conversion completed the day. It was 110 here in Scottsdale. Hot day to be under the truck for 5 hours. Tomorrow it gets a tune-up and some new parts on the top end.

Slapped some paint on her Wednesday in hopes of driving it in the Fair Parade today. Performed tune-up, went to set timing and found my fuel pump was leaking :whine:
Got a fuel pump today, ran(drove the grocery getter) home on lunch and replaced fuel pump, changed oil--3 gallons of gas/oil in the crankcase, and set timing. She runs SO much better now!

I gotta tell you, seeing all you guys working on your stuff got me motivated, you guys ROCK! :metal:

if you use orange RTV around the ports before u install the gaskets they never leak apply enough to fill out uneven parts. I drag race and that's what we do even on the flange g
