Today I applied what I hope is the last coat of paint on the 67 steering wheel I restored. I started working on it 4 years ago but got side tracked working higher priority projects.

Just remember that it's a paint chip in a catalog and not actually a furriner color! When I painted my '56 Chevy wagon, I let my wife pick the blue color painted lower part from the Ditzler book. Could have just as easily gotten the turquoise for that year, but I'd already picked good old GM #11 for the white instead of the cream color. ;)

For a bit now my battery meter hasn't moved, finally bugged me enough to check the fuses, when I pulled the driver's side apart the glass separated. I stuck in a normal one in (which is way to long) but that allowed the battery meter to come back alive.
I wanted to get Littelfuse SFE4BP SFE, but got Bussmann Division SFE-4 Auto because they'll come in tomorrow (via Amazon). Hopefully it will fit properly! After that, I'll not drive or see my truck for awhile - which makes me sad. I'm having to move to Atlanta, Ga on Saturday to keep my position at WarnerBros. Discovery (my remote work status was revoked) and I must report to the campus there. My youngest will be keeping up the house here in Texas, while I hunker down in a little apartment. Kind of sucks but I am trying to see it as an adventure. After being here in my home for nearly 25 years and twice as long in Texas, it surely will be different. Here's the truck, nicely tucked with her cover on to keep the dust off while I am away. See you labor day or perhaps Thanksgiving Good 'O Truck! :'( |

Today I installed an alternator bracket that I lengthened and modified to work with my M/T valve covers. I made a temporary one a couple of years ago until I had a way to heat/bent metal to match the curve needed to clear the alternator. This was a good project to justify an oxy/acetylene torch for the garage.
