I figure a week wait and a hour of driving time is worth the $200 savings for me.

yeah, shipping can make or break the deal up here. can you imagine the cost to ship 200lbs of brake drum across the border. after i factor in my gas, time, duty & taxes, some things it's worth it, some aren't. my family rides in my crew, so i got "premium" parts, not really the place where cheapest is bestest anyways. don't know if you know, but if your truck ever makes it over 4"'s of lift, it's supposed to be safetied, without that e-brake, your truck's not going anywhere

Have you checked classicindustries.com? Idk if they're cheaper than rockauto but they were about half the price of what I got them for at oriellys.

Yeah being only 20 min from the truck crossing & mail box helps. Pricing down there is 50% cheaper for HD pads compared to here. It's amazing that you can get HD pads for $50 set there vs $100 here for the good stuff. Usually I wait till I have a few items to order though to make it really worth my time and to save more. At least this way I can rebuild the whole rearend for $400 with HD parts and not have to skimp on it :D

Didn't know about the height issue although any lifted vehicle can get a VI. Mine will stay stock height though since I need easy access to the bed. If it were just a toy it'd get 4" of lift asap haha

Briefly compared them. Seem to be around the same price for everything. I know a few people who use rockauto with good luck so I think I'll try them out for parts this time. No matter which vendor I use it's still 50% cheaper than buying from up here lol:metal:

Pic of my 1989 when I bought her.

R3500 with a 454 under the hood. I fell in love with her when I smoked the duallys in the yard even though I had that big steel service box on the back :D

Nice truck! Looks like you've got at least a 4" on there already?

Thanks. It'll actually all stock. It's an ex-forstry truck so it was ordered from the factory with HD everything and overload suspension. The spid lists "auxillary suspension" as an option so I'm guessing by that it means overload. Also has codes indicating "manufacturer add-ons" which don't have names so who knows what else was added compared to a stock truck lol

Here's my spid. I figured out half the codes and others I haven't found a listing for yet.

I know for sure its woodland green with 4.56 gear, t-case skidplate, cold climate/block heater package and a fleetside dually haha I got that much out of the codes, which is also the obvious stuff :D

RPOcodes.com

That site had a few of the missing codes I couldn't find on other sites. Still missing a couple, but no biggy. I'd really only care if it were a classic truck, but it's always nice to know what your truck actually has lol

Now I just need to get a new tailgate and canopy or find a really cheap utility canopy to throw in there for when I travel. I just missed out on the perfect canopy for free!! I missed by minutes too as the guy posted on CL. Some many out there though I figure another free or less than $200 canopy will pop up again.

Thanks! I filled in a couple that were missing, still a couple to go. Are there any breakdowns for the codes to explain what everything means? (besides the obvious stuff) I find on my older trucks it's way easy to figure them out since they are so basic

Other than asking our resident square body assembly line supervisor (Keith Seymore), I do not know. Like you say, most are self explanatory, others...not so much.

most of whats left is in-house codes, except for the tires
ZN3 is a tuff one.
FLT, sales processing option (fleet)
R8L,control sales item
XYL, front tire, LT 215/85R16D
YK6, identification (SPO)
Z31, price sheet identification
