Fuel line connectoin is the same as the ls engines.
If you are using braided AN line get one of these to connect to the fuel line on the engine

I tried one of those, too small. I just ordered a 3/8x-06an so we will see if that works.

Yep, 3/8 is the one you want.

That’s what worked. ThanksClint!!

What rad hoses are y’all using? I’m running a champion radiator so 1-1/2” top and 1-3/4 lower.

Also, what about MAF sensor? Cold air intake??

Re: Gen V Engine swap info

My bad for the wrong link for the fuel line connector. I edited that post for a 3/8" connector.

I ordered the gm factory hoses and radiator for a 2015 silverado. This means i will need to run the coolant tank also because the gm radiator does not have a fill cap. They are cheap.

Re: Gen V Engine swap info

That’s cool E!

The stock Rad won’t fit, too wide for me. Jags that run has a coupling with a rad cap housing in it if that’s something you need.

Re: Gen V Engine swap info

Stock 454 rad, amazon coupler, think it was the 36mm. 32 fit loose, 34mm was ok, 36 felt like you had to wrestle it on.. so went with that one. 2 hoses spiced, lower stock ls truck

Thanks!!

One was an body and another was the same size but with a 90 and a length of strait... 2 fbody ones should work out the same

These do not have steam ports correct? I’m not where the truck is so...

Here are some pics of a 2wd 78 c10 using the 2014 silverado radiator, coolant recovery tank and radiator hoses. I trimmed some off the upper hose for a near perfect fit.
Prices from Rock Auto

Radiator. 100$
Coolant tank 37$
Lower radiator hose 48$
Upper radiator hose 17$
Obviously this is not a bolt in modification, there will be some fab work to do but everything fits great

If you plan on getting rid of the vacuum pump on your gen 5 there are 2 oil supply/return ports that need to be plugged. From the GM dealer the part number is
11546665 for the oil plug.
Sold individually. You will need 2

I need to call Motech and get some info on their miscle car module. If that does not turn out i have another idea in the works but dont want to share much until I can make it work.
How far are you into your swap?

I’m almost at start up. Everything is on and I’m working on MAF sensor,CAI, exhaust.

I’ve heard that Dakota Digital and Rostra are the only options since cruise was handled by the BMC stock...I don’t have a BCM on my harness.

Please do let me know, it’s not a necessity but a nice to have!!

Sounds like you are farther along than i am. Did you have the vats removed from your ecm yet? If so did you send it out or have someone local take care of it. I still need this done.

Re: Gen V Engine swap info

I sent it out....there wasn’t anyone close that was experienced with the L83/86 PCM reprogram.

Here is Motechs power steering mount adapter. Uses a 2012 Jeep wrangler pump. Also is a view of their standalone harness with ECU/Bussman mount

Re: Gen V Engine swap info

Nice, how much. The Motech PS solution is good but I still rather have it on the driver side tho. Who modified the stock harnesses for L83 swaps?

vannatta20 02-04-2018 06:28 PM

Re: Gen V Engine swap info

I think its 80$ for the billet adapter. I modify harnesses and do programming if anyone needs it done.

Re: Gen V Engine swap info

What engine mounts are you guys using? I have a 74' C10 and currently have the Dirty Dingo mounts. The problem is you have to move the AC and delete the vacum pump for the mounts to fit in the engine correctly which leaves the issue of brackets to mount the AC unit in top of getting a bracket for the power steering. They do make those brakets, but spending $600 in brackets alone in top of replacing the AC unit with a different one along with a different water pump is a bit pricey. If that is the route I need to go so be it I will bite the bullet but would like to see what other options are out there.

If I read this correctly you do not need the BCM for cruise and tap shift correct? If that is the case what do you have to do?

Also if you are using those mounts what are you doing for headers?

Any other information is greatly appreciated. We are just getting back started and have yet to set the engine in the truck yet for our 1st test fit.

Sorry guess I should mention it is a 2016 L83 with 6l80e trans.

Does that fit the jeep swap, or the 73-87 squares?

Almost positive it wouldn't fit a square body.

I modified the stock hose ends. Close but clearance is there.
