I cant believe no one said leatherman yet. I keep one in my pocket, saved my ass plenty of times. Especially being a commercial dump truck driver, things shake loose, sometimes you need a knife or screwdriver.

Snap-On duck bill pliers, most versatile pliers out there (Craftsman are an acceptable substitute)

Then i would say Gear Wrenches -- love 'em for most things that need a wrench

By far, my most favorite tool(s) is my open ended ratchet and socket set! they are just so awesome. also my custom creeper, witch also doubles as a beer run tool:lol:

My air cutoff wheel and my set of deep well impact sockets they are worth there weight in gold in my opinion.

Snap On standard nut driver set, 1" breaker bar, and most of all a really bright and rugged trouble light!

Someone already said their cardboard creeper. I own several styles. I like my Harbor Frieght A/C vacumn pump and gauge set I scored for like $130.00.

A creeper will be my next purchase. With the wide selection of tools i have aquired I can't belive I dont have one. :lol:

I can't believe no one has said there floor jack probably the most used with a lowered truck...next woud be my mig welder or compressor

A 60's vintage Rockwell drill press rescued from a local trade school.

Don't use it very much but I was really stoked to save an old American made machine from the scrapyard and bring it back to life.

Out here we dig a hole in the ground and put the truck over it and bam instant mechanic pit!! :metal:. Thats how we change the oil :lol:

Never thought of taking mine in to the wreckin yard good idea. Also I used to use an old yoga mat that I got from my ex :metal: better than cardboard
