I want it.

Would you consider a trade for a new aluminum Marin mountain bike with Shimano LX and XT parts with disc brakes?

Man...I'm pretty much at my bottom dollar now. I may have a little wiggling room, but at this moment, I have to stick with the $650 price.

Sounds like a decent bike...I've been out of the hobby for about 12 years or so when my Canondale got ripped off. But I have no place to store a nice bike nor honstly, the urge to ride one any more. I have too many back problems as it is.

Let me know...both of you. Sleep on it, PM me...or respond on here... I'll be off work at a decent time on saturday, and have sunday off. So if either of you are still interested...we can talk this weekend.

Andy, not gonna lie to ya or anyone else.
if i bought it, i would take it for parts for my other projects.
I'll give ya (....) for it.
Pm me for the price.
I could take it within the next week.
If anyone else wants it complete, so be it.
Lemme know.

R 78 PROJECT 11-05-2004 02:59 PM

nice

nice project 4 the price, 2 bad so far

Longhorn Man 11-05-2004 06:45 PM

I'd like to see her live on here... if it gets parted out...it gets parted out, lets face it, it's a rough truck. But I'd like to see some one put a little elbow grease in her for another couple years.
Anyone...8t5Silverado...?

Staceydude 11-05-2004 08:48 PM

To bad it would not be a drivable project... I have a big block and tranny.

But I would have to be able to drive it down from up north....

there are oodles of parts around here for it...

Would it not make the trip...

How is the frame???

I like the looks of it really...

Regards,

Stacey

Longhorn Man 11-05-2004 09:18 PM

The frame is great. HArdly any rust...just surface rust, and maybe some very mild pitting. it is actually a southern truck. It lived in Kansas most it's life, then moved to central Texas for a few years before I dragged it up here. It's been here in the snow belt for 3 1/2 years or so.
It would not make the trip..no way, no how. I was hearing the knocking over open headers. Cork it up and you'd hear it so loud you'd be afraid of scattering it once you hit the freeway.
Do you have abything that can drag it? Like I said...I have a tow bar...

Staceydude 11-05-2004 09:22 PM

Sending you a PM

Regards,

Stace

Longhorn Man 11-05-2004 10:40 PM

Dude....right back to ya.

Staceydude 11-06-2004 12:55 PM

TTT for Longhorn Man...

Will a Short Stepside bed fit this truck???

Regards,

Stacey

cableguy0 11-06-2004 02:55 PM

im pretty sure the beds are interchangeable but most people usually switch the other way from the step to the fleet

dubie 11-06-2004 03:05 PM

all SWB beds will fit on any SWB frame of this era.

Longhorn Man 11-06-2004 05:15 PM

Like said...a step side will fit...direct bolt on. That was the original plan for this one before I got the Longhorn.

cableguy0 11-07-2004 04:03 PM

good luck selling it heres a ttt for ya

Longhorn Man 11-07-2004 07:45 PM

Ok guys, making a deal with the devil here in PM land...selling it to be parted out...anyone want to see a salvagable SWB get dismantled...
anyone...
anyone...

Yeah, i know...I'm

Staceydude 11-07-2004 08:22 PM

BAH.... Thats nothing but crazy talk!!! :)

If I was closer I would buy it....

Hate to see a shortbed or any truck go like that....

Hope whoever gets it does some good with it...

I appreciate all the pics and info you gave in the ad.

Regards,

Stacey

bump

8t5Silverado 11-08-2004 02:08 PM

I have thought it over and given my limited garage space, I would be better off getting one that doesn't need too much work.

Here's a bump for you. I hope it doesn't get parted out, especially since it is a swb.

Longhorn Man 11-08-2004 08:25 PM

it is as good as sold for the moment...may not be, but I'll call it sold for now.
