A '69 -'72 Blazer/Jimmy K/5 tub out of fibreglass would kick some serious @ss.

I did the fiberglass thing on my drag car. Everything but the roof and quarters were 'glass. It's a pain. ALL fiberglass parts are warped at least a little. It's a result of the curing. ALL fiberglass parts are wavy. ALL fiberglass parts have small voids. ALL fiberglass parts come with a sticker that has a disclaimer that says, "may delaminate at high speeds." A complete 'glass body is a MAJOR pain. Seen guys have to cut entire roofs off to try and get the body even close to straight. If you go with 'glass parts and want to paint a dark color, be prepared to soend untold hours smoothing.

Yes, 'glass parts are light, I took a 4200 lb cutlass down to 2500 with me in it, but it was no fun fitting the 'glass body parts.

I would reccomend not buying glass from unlimited!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have one of these and I had their hood for an 87 model and a 89 silverado! I like the quality and the fit is not bad! They take a little more work on fit and finish but they are much stronger than the steel hoods as far as dings and such! The one on the 87 got left unlatched after I sold the truck and it blew up! The cowl part went through the winsheild and crushed the dash pad and didn't even crack the hood!

I'd think like, a fiberglass bed would be nice and would remove a lotta weight without the added problems of trying to get doors and hoods to line up properly. I don't haul much "really heavy" stuff and a fiberglass replacement bed with non-movable tailgate (as in one piece) would actually work for me (forgive me I ain't really looked at the site not sure if such an animal exists, just saying).

The hood and doors I'd think would be a good upgrade, I plan on getting cowl hood and hell my door are gonna need so much work just going glass might be the way to go and remove a few pounds of weight at the same time... though a side-impact on fiberglass doors is a scary thought.
