Never really cared for the look of the LWB steps, but yours has changed my mind. That truck kicks AZZZZZ :metal:
|
The truck kicks!! I would love to see our trucks poping up in more shows.
I just started stripping my truck. Hoping to get to the bare frame by the end of the month so I can take it and get it sandblasted, primered, and epoxied. Maybe after that I can start gauging how long my project is going to take right now I'm shooting for retirement! My wife got me all new hardware and bushings for the rear suspension as my big 30 b-day present. :) |
Wow! :metal:
|
I really like the color and the slots. Whats the story with the white and black one in the background?
|
Sweet truck.
What is the knob next to the drivers seat? |
Good to see some finished projects showing up on the boards more and more...well done.
|
Nice job!!It`s just right.I tell people I`m putting an 8`Stepside on my truck and they think I`m nuts. Most people only like short Stepsides or Fleetsides. It takes a special truck to turn`em around.Yours does it.What mirrors are you using?
|
VERY NICE!!! I'm kinda partial to longsteps though, do you have any better pics of the filler door?
|

Here are some more pic's. Didn't win anything at the car show. 200 cars and trucks and I had the only 4x4 in the parking lot.
|
Beautiful truck...you got robbed at that show!
|
any problems getting the big block to fit?
|
Something about the long steps that make these trucks stand out! VERY nice job on that!
|
That is the nicest long step I've EVER seen. Makes me want to start looking around for one of my own....................

I love the shows and it is OK that I did not win anything.....The people liked it....
The big block went in OK. I took the three piece cross member out and cut the main cross piece in two. Then moved it forward on the frame. It is on rubber small block Motor mounts. So far so good!!!! |
Thanks for the filler door pics, thats a real slick setup.
I'm curious as to how well the motor mounts will hold up without the bottom portion of the crossmember, sure will make it easy to pull the pan while in the truck. |
It is still a tight pull
I had the motor for three years and the rear main seal dried out and leaked. I only drove it four times before I had to pull the pan and replace the rear main seal. It worked slick. I will watch the mounts real close. They are actually 396 car mounts. they are the same size as regular SB mounts. Time will tell.
Thanks, Steve |
Great looking truck. Glad to see a GMC all done up.

Super nice truck. Gives me something to shoot for:
