That's a good price IMO.I was quoted $900 for a mufflershop system.Aluminized too not stainless.O'course this is canadian though.
I can get good prices on steel so I'm thinking about buyin a bunch of stainless and putting my TIG machine to work building a true 2.5" system.

Remember, cheapest doesn't usually win in the long run. Looks like a nice setup and a good price.....but with my limited $$ and sooo many things to buy/fix, I'll end up doing a cheaper setup. This dry desert air should help it last long enuf.

Kit is $499, not sure where the $642 came from, but go to Jeg's or Summit
and price the following, let's see what you end up spending vs. the kit ;)

2.5" SS pipes from the headers all the way to the tailgate,
(This is a Minimum of 4 standard sticks of Exhaust tubing)
2.5" SS X-pipe, 2 SS Magnaflow Mufflers, and 2 SS tips, &
that is not to mention that all the pipes are Mandrel bent.
(99% of all muffler shop pipes are NOT mandrel bent or SS)

My buddy who runs a shop came up w a price of $450, and
that is his cost on all the pieces above w/out his profit ;)

$499 for stainless is cheap. It will last the life of the truck. Nothing else comes close. I made a single stainless exhaust for my 6 cylinder and probably spent close to $300 in pipes, muffler , ball and socket collectors clamps etc. Chris

Now throw in some headers and you've got a deal! :D

Re: New - Magnaflow Exhaust Kit

anyone know what the minimum diameter is on 2.5" pipe vs. the 3.35" stuff with crimp-bends? I know it can't be the same 'cause I've seen pretty good differences in flow when swapping up to regular old 2.5" pipe. Just wonder how much difference there is in diamete at the bends. For that matter, what about 3" pipe with crimp-bends?

I'm thinkin I'll probably just go with 2.5" standard pipes when I upgrade to headers. It's not like my 402 is going to be spinning that many RPMs anyway, even if I do some mild engine upgrades.

Like he said... That's Magnaflow's MSRP, check out list price at Summit or Jeg's

I'm just curious as to how they deal with the center crossmember issue.

That is a heck of a good price in my opinion! I need new exhaust from the cab back for sure, and its only 2" at the moment, so I'm thinking this may be a good choice for me. Anyone know what manifolds or headers this system is supposed to hook on to? I have 2.25" ramhorns with the curve at the bottom.

Re: New - Magnaflow Exhaust Kit

<$500 for a complete dual exhaust made of mandrel-bent SS with mufflers ain't bad at all. Any muffler shop would charge at least $300 for the same in inferior aluminized pipe with restrictive, crimped bends and likely inferior mufflers too. While I don't prefer Magnaflow mufflers, that is a system for the well-powered truck you're going to keep long term. Assuming it comes with all necessary brackets and fits well.
