CUB 1975 350 4 spd trans. J L48 165 4 Vette CUB 1977 350 LM1 L 170 4 B CUB 1980 305 LG4 H 155 4 B I would be willing to trust that the intake is original. Mine was when I picked up my V8. And, as listed above, one of the years is 1977. It looks to be the most common motor. A donor Corvette motor is hard to come by (atleast in my experience) and there is definetly a power difference between a 305 and a 350. This is the website where I found the suffix chart: http://www.nastyz28.com/chevy-engine-code-stampings.php |
Re: hi everybody
I saw that chart and it confused me somewhat because once I realised I mangled my casting code (block) what I really had was 3?70010 which on every chart I look at the ? can only be a nine. For that code I get the following from this site http://www.73-87.com/chevy_ids/blockid.htm
1968 3970010 327 - - 2 A 1969-79 3970010 350 185 370 2 or 4 car, truck, Vette Well I pretty sure its not a 327 and because of the intake and suffix Im fairly certain its 77' ; The confusing part is the two horsepower ratings 185 for low and 370 for high both of which are higher than the suffix CUB indicates so Im like ok wtf. Also I was told the block was 4 bolt and Im seeing now that my only way to confirm this is to drop the pan ( I need to anyway since I got a leak). But what would you take from this, whats your opinion of what I have according to the numbers? |
