aha, if your gunna try to find a truck up here in canada, look in alberta, and in vancouver area. alot of our generation trucks are still working truck around vancouver, and their warmer climate over there really helps save the bodies.
looking in barns is sometimes the best way to go, all the hay and such really save the trucks, keeps em dry. Beaten and worn paint is good, becasue you always know what your buying...

on the other hand, buying in the states aint that bad.

i bought my truck outa St. Louis, Mo

Well not quite!

We are creeping up on you and economists here predict that in the next 6 months to a year we will be the ones making the jokes about the lower valued American Dollar!

I think the Canadian dollar is sitting at about .94 right now.

My boss recently answered a ad in a local paper for this truck. He gave 600 bucks for it. SWB, 327 with a 4 speed tranny. He drove it 50 miles home. He asked me before he went and a looked at it if that was a good price. I told him if he didnt buy it, I would. So just depends on where you live on your variety of trucks and prices.

hey MVFD70, no offense taken, a little jab here and there is good for the funny bone. Not that I'm old or anything, but in 1972 when I was kid, my family and I spent a week boating in the San Juan Islands (north of Seattle WA) CANADIAN $1 = $1.10 US greenback. Problem was that our new $10 bill was purple and nobody would take my allowance.

Re: What you get for 7K in Canada :(

Being that this truck runs on the Island where I live it would fetch $1500.00 max!!!

As far as $7000.00 goes it's the North American way .... sell high and put the screws to someone when your buying, the way I see it people are a product of there enviroment so one cannot really blame the guy for trying. He'll get the point when it doesn't sell.

I'll say one thing it's pretty dent free. The lower rust areas are an easy fix and the tin is available to do it. As far as a hood goes I would score a doner truck $200.00 max that would have a good hood. A hood is about $100.00 bucks to buy from a fellow truck guy in the event you cannot find a doner truck.

I know a guy that just bought a box out of California for $600.00 so no biggy. If the frame is good and priced fare this might be a worthy prodject. As it is now the way it is he's fishing for a sucker and waisting his time.

esll. :)

I don't know what you're talking about. There are lots of decent shape old 60s cars/trucks in Saskatchewan. Infact I've actually found it harder to find old cars/trucks (whole or parts) in Vancouver since I've moved here. I had much better luck in Saskatoon and the surrounding area. How many wreckers in the lower mainland have cars in them that arn't newer than late 70s? If there are some please share because I havn't found any in the 6 months that I've been here.

Ok, this is not one of our trucks but I just had a buddy e/mail me two barn finds in the last week.

One is a 64 pontiac goat survivor.

The other is a 32 ford roadster with 2 olds enginges.

The thing that I find living here is that you connect with people and things happen with out even trying. Last month this guy e/mailed me about a 34 ford roadster. This guy also found my 71 Chev donner P/UP for my 70' project.

There is stuff all over you just have to know how to find it. Another example is the 1991 Honda Accord EXR I tripped over for $2700.00 dollars. This car has 208000/k full load, new tires, exhaust, brakes etc. and everything works and would fetch $4900.00 very easy. I've decided to give it to my daughter.

esll. :)

I think that is an excellent deal only if there are 6000 $1 bills in the glovebox.

Are you looking for truck cause I know of a decent looking blue GMC sitting behind a fence with a For Sale sign with a phone number but no price. Are in S'toon, if so pm me and I'll give you the particulars, if you are in PA I'll go get a pic and the phone nimber for you. There is also another listed in the Star Phoenix this past wekend for 8400 with A/C.. I think it belongs to an old guy in Massey Place and he'd ben trying to sell it for a few years. Its decent with no or almost no rust but the A/C is add on.
