you can definetly put up pics and iformation you just are not allowed to try to sell anything unless you are a paid member. they really do this to help keep the rif-raf out of the site and it really helps alot. take it to the pm's if you want to talk sales i guess or spend the 25 bucks to support this board. i did and it is well worth it for this site.

Re: Homebuilt "C"notch kit.?.?.?.

I think SCOTI was just trying to help me by letting me know that it might be possible to purchase a kit for less work than to reinvent the wheel like I am trying to do.....

SCOTI, I'm sorry about that...

Moderators, OK, if that is the way business is done around here.....

Kontrol Phreaks- I did not make the contact, so I don't know exactly what was said. I do know that your knowledge, and assistance on the forum is appreciated. I would like to encourage you to consider becoming a supporting vendor if possible. If that's not possible, I would still like to encourage you to continue to share your knowledge of suspension systems.

Oopps,
My mistake, sorry, I wasn't paying attention on who posted that...

Kontrol Phreaks,
Thanks for sharing your information with me and everyone else. Please consider being a supporting vendor. I generally like to get advice and help from as many people as possible.

I haven't posted any prices on here, just images with some tech advise and suggestions. ( must have been as soon as I added more then my name to a post ) We don't have a problem becoming a member and helping support those who are supporting us. For now I'm just going to play it safe until we get things paid for and taken care of. That way nobody else get their toes accidentially stepped on, or undies in a bunch. :c2:

Cool,
Just in case no one else says it, thanks for supporting the site.
If I had the available I would buy a kit in a heartbeat, BUT, as my screenname states I don't have much money but will get the results I'm lookin for. If the truck won't hold the road the way I want it to, It is just a big "Boatanchor" to me.(Don't worry, it WILL hold the road)
Can't remember if I posted pics of my truck on this site or not.....

OK,
I started fabbin up my C-notch kit the other day. I got some templates cut and I have it all laid out on the material I will be useing. Now I have GOT to find a way to cut it straight. (That stuff is thick cast iron) Take a look...

You think that slab of iron will get the job done.

I think it will do just fine. A plasma cutter would be nice if you have access, if not then take your time and use a cutting torch. Check with your local welding shop. For a few bux or a 6 pack they might cut and weld it for you...:)

Kontrol Phreaks-Thank you for becoming a supporting vendor-:metal:

Make sure to give em that 6 pack after the work is done.

Re: Homebuilt "C"notch kit.?.?.?.

that's not cast iron ... my guess is cold-rolled steel.

FlatBrokeRacing 06-21-2007 11:30 AM

Re: Homebuilt "C"notch kit.?.?.?.

Thank for all the replys from everyone. I'm just going to go to HF and get some cut off wheels for my angle grinder and do it myself. That way, the work will be done the way I want it and I still know where the six pack is too. No welding required on this kit at all. It is going to be a complete bolt in and torqued down before the frame is cut any.

I hope that is a good plan and hope that I have it all figured out right.

Again, thanks for all the input.

Cutting this stuff has been a lot harder that I thought.
Still nowhere close to being done yet.
