My god that makes me sick. I hope you come out alright with the insurance and you get fully compensated for all your losses. :( Shame that it could have been prevented if the first cop had done his job.

I agree with everyone that said get a lawyer! There is no way an insurance company is going to deal right with you. Unless you had full coverage and a declared value, they are going to find some ugly beaten 72 burb and tell you yours is worth the same $300-$500. Hope you saved all the receipts from the build. Could do a lawyer a lot of good. as for the P.O.S. that hit that beautiful Burb, I hope he finds himself at the mercy of lots of boyfriends while in jail!

you're much more of a man than i ever will be... i would have shot the mother f'er!!! someone rear ended my impala a year ago and their insurance low balled me; so i sued the s.o.b. and come to find out... they can't pay me because they have a kid and wife to support at home and he make minimum wage, and he owns nothing... i paid out of my own pocket to fix everything and my damn lawyer fees... because i was told not to cash the insurance check and then it expired... etc... sorry for babbling on; hope everything works out for you!!

There sure do seem to be a lot of our trucks/'burbs getting smashed into while parked lately. It's a pretty sickening trend. Like everyone else has said, at least you and your family are o.k. Still sucks about your 'burb though.

WOW... sorry for your losses... Since a weapon was involved does that make it a felony? Maybe a stiffer sentence and better odds for you? I saw a DUI chase trash three cars at once (in a Geo Tracker of all things) and he kept going for about a mile. I gladly went to court for that! Glad you + family weren't hurt, could have been in the house!

If it hasn't been done yet... get a classic car company to apraise the burb for a pre-damage value. you'll pay them 100 - 150 bucks, but if you have documentation that your burb was not just an "old work truck" as the insurance company will say.... then they have no option but to pay you the value of it.



Lets just hope the POS had insurance.

Wow that sucks about your burb. I can safely say i know exactly how you feel. Just be glad you or your family wasn't out in the yard when he ran it down.... Oh and good luck with the insurance thing, if he was drinking and driving he probably doesn't have enough sense to realize he needs insurance... At the end of the day you gotta say to your self... it could have been worse. Thats whats been keeping me going this entire month. Mabee this will kick start the Truckers Against Drunk Drivers bumper sticker....

Dude that sucks!!:( I live in Pensacola, and unfortunately we have had alot of that stuff in the past couple years. Its amazing the deputys will shoot someone rather than look at them and the city lets the drunks jump in their cars and drive. I hate that happened. Hope that you can fix her. I think Ive actually seen you around town before. Where do you live? Well I hope you have a better day. Later

As far as the city cop goes...there ain`t no explaining to it.He`s liable as hell!!Looks like the city will be paying out some buck bucks the way I see it!That terd prolly has nothing and hopefully,at least,insurance.You`ll be going for the limit on that.It`s more than property damage.Go for mental anguish.Who can "rest easy" knowing that can happen in your yard when you`re sleeping.He didn`t even come off the road in front.He was waaaay off!!!
